This was the capper to the greatest Elite Eight in NCAA tournament history. Three all-time classics that went to overtime out of the four games and the fourth (UNC-Wisconsin) came right down to the wire as well.

I still say the 2005 tourney was the best one ever. Bucknell over Kansas, three Elite Eight games go to OT, including the Illini comeback against Zona, and this classic. Think about it, the Louisville came back from 20 down to beat West Virginia in OT and it was the THIRD best Elite Eight game that year! Crazy. Plus, UNC vs Illinois was one of the best Finals ever, coming down to the last seconds between the two best teams that year.

Yep...not often you go back to a game you lost for a fond memory but that shot put Sparks into the things of UK legends. And with double overtime, we didn't lose by not fighting for it with everything we had - and MSU and Izzo aren't slouches to face.

One of my favorite college games I've ever watched. Just the fact I kept telling my coworker that Michigan St. was going to make the Final Four that year and beating Duke & Kentucky over the weekend.

This was the last matchup between both teams. The last time Izzo and Calipari met was in 2008 (#1 Memphis vs. #5 Michigan State, Memphis defeated the Spartans 92-74 in Houston - South Region Sweet 16).

Yep...congrats. Classy fans from both sides on this video commenting - I can't disrespect Izzo or MSU. Both teams just played their hearts out here...of course wish my Cats had won instead but that Sparks shot still makes for a fond memory.

This Game broke My heart...I still often find Myself thinking about what "MIGHT HAVE BEEN" if Kelenna would have even TRIED to take a shot; MSU players were ALL over Him. ALL HE HAD TO DO was put up SOME KIND of shot. I guarantee the way this Game was being called by the Ref's all ticky-tack, that a 2 shot Foul would have been called...He hits ONE of them...History Re-Written. *sigh*...Pipe Dreams...

Yep...we had multiple championship caliber teams well after "Pitino's Players" were gone (which is a ridiculous argument anyway - someone still had to coach "Pitino's Players" that year and put them in the game) - Tubby Smith ran a good strong program during his tenure - just had a bad game at the wrong time, or the opponent was just playing hot when we encountered them (like MSU here - UK was also playing good). It happens - just like had teams that could have won in 2010, 2011 that didn't.

Honestly, screw the Laettner Game, (even though he SHOULD have been EJECTED before any of the rest of the BULLSHIT transpired) THIS GAME WAS RIGHT HERE gets the bile on the back of My neck bubbling! If we had made it past this team (MSU), on this particular Night, Kentucky would have DOMINATED the Final 4 Game & tne Championship.And after that bomb Sparks shot,too...Goddamnit, Man... ;_;
