Yeah that is the crazy point. This is incredible expensive for Chiang Mai but when compared to many other places. It is amazing value!

For comparison you can get a modern 2 bdr overlooking the marina in Mexico at about $3000 USD. It would be not quite as decked out as this, but for a prime location.

In nearby Singapore, that kind of rent will get you a tiny apartment in an old, dirty public housing complex.
