    I'm actually especially happy about that - LA native, can confirm that crazy shirtless guys yelling at you is part of the classic Venice Beach experience. I'm sure Leo P could have handled it, he's played NYC subways for years, but this was likely their pre-defined plan for just such an event. Very slick.

    Back in 1999 I was staying in a hostel in downtown Sydney on George Street when I awoke to the sound of two saxophonists busting out the coolest rendition of the superman theme tune I've ever heard, all while commuters just strolled past. I sat in my window watching them from 5 stories up for a good half hour until a massive rain storm blew in and they packed it up. Honestly one of my favourite memories from an entire year in Australia. Just stumbled on 2Saxy and it reminded me of that story. Would be ace to hear these guys do a version of it.

  • @AkkiLad

    @AkkiLad

    George Street does get a lot of really good musicians playing there so to regular commuters it's probably an everyday experience, and on weekdays when people are trying to just get from Point A to Point B no-one really pays attention to anything which is a real shame. A similarly, real memorable experience I've had was walking down George Street some weekend and watching a bunch of random musicians and even dancers collaborating and improvising. It had to be one of the best performances I've ever experienced.

    Do people comprehend this level of talent and skill? I played and still have my alto. Was lead in jazz band for at least 5-6 years. Their skill level is remarkable. Edit: I could make mine scream false notes like she did at the 20 minute point too. Also… the low notes on a sax take a lot of air. These two are remarkably talented. This is a complete workout. Edit 2: also nothing pairs better than a bari and alto sax. They simply work perfectly together.

    The production value in this is just beyond. The stride, the setting, the looks, the grooves, the synergy, but what gets me every time is knowing how many years of hard work and knowledge these two have put into their craft. The perfect transitions between modes and themes, the progressions, absolutely amazing.

    You guys are really hip there over in California Venice Beach! I watched until the end. I like your discussion at the end. You explained some of my earlier questions about how much composition and rehearsal and how much improvising. Seems like you two should or could be "hitched" if you're not already! Your expressions are very super together. You make quite an exciting couple! 😁😇😛

    I like imagining a big rolling dolly system that has the camera person filming them and then a full drum set and drummer behind him drumming.

    I like how several people were respectful, moved past, or slowed and let them pass, then turned back or sped up to catch back up. Some lingered a short way behind. Some seemed to cut across after the turn. Most were cool, with a smile, nod, or thumbs up, and one crazy whackadoo is kind of a requirement for something like this... ( Well Played! ~ Pun intended)

    That was great guys. Like a tv show or a short film, but all the dialogue is music. Really enjoyed the sax off and the escape from the crazy guy. quite dramatic moments. Looking forward to more :)

    Pick-up recorder... excited bicycler... drunk shirtless man... operatic passer by... These background characters make these recordings that much more memorable! But most of all, the music is killer.

    You two are incredible both individually, as a duo and in your other groups..🌟🌟 Yeah, you’re both technically superior to all the others, but more importantly, you’re all about your OWN passionate styles...
