She is saying that the reasons for the bad performance was: - he had a bad night - he had two major trips while working as a president - he had to do his presidential duties - he had to prepare for the debate - "on top of that" he had a jet lag - he also had a cold - those "two things"(two???) were responsible for the bad performance - that happens when you are having an important moment and you are not feeling well - also he wished he could have done better
