I am the original owner of a red 1991 Honda CRX HF 5-speed hatchback. His name is RED BOI and we’re in California. He only has 148k original miles.

Nice video. As an owner of a CRX for 35+ years I have a few thoughts. My list of biggest issues would be - 1. Rust 2. Timing belt 3. AC. And your list of rare factory options is a mix of USDM and JDM. The rarest 2nd Gen USDM options are in no particular order are - metal louvers, arm rest, fog lights, OEM cassette stereo with separate equalizer, “CRX” marked floor mats, ski racks, rear child’s car seat restraint, among a few other things. The JDM market got a ton of rare options - from the Holy Grail “SiR” model with a panoramic glass roof to headlight wipers. JDM cars generally came with power windows that weren’t available in the U.S. Canada got rare “Special Edition” model.

CC is a measure of displacement NOT power... so 1500cc is the equivalent of 1.5L. 1cc = 1mL

I love my 88 CRX HF. Original engine long since gone. Very nice originalcolor paint. Now has ZC DOHC 1.6 with matching 5 speed tranny. Burns zero oil. Plugs always look newish. I'd jump in it and drive anywhere. Also plenty of spare "little parts" that have become very rare. Nothing gets past me on Ebay. Been collecting parts for twenty years (when they were dirt cheap).. Being the ZC was not available here has not made life any easier. The very decent A/C helps me keep my cool. A turbo or engine swap would cost me the A/C. It's my daily driver.

Have owned my 89 base since 94. Soon I will be 64 and will never get rid of it. Great autocross car. Lowered on Skunk 2 springs, Tokico shocks, braided brake line, DC upper rear strut bar, and a D16a6. Half tank of gas, removed a/c, mud shrouds, carpet, rear cargo.. weighs 1985 lbs.

Got my 89 Dx(92hp base DPFI) crx back in 2009 for $700. Drove it stock for 2 years before swapping a built b16 SiR-II motor n tranny. I dailyed that b16 crx for almost a decade, now its just a summer toy that's lucky to see 100 miles a month 5 months a year. It still loves to be driven tho. Cable Clutch, no power steering, no abs or traction control, AC delete, manual everything. Nothing to break or its an easy fix if something does go wrong. Only makes about 185hp n weighing 2150lbs with 1/2 a tank of gas n me sitting in it. That's still almost 100 hp added to a car that didn't have 100hp to begin with. Not the fastest car on the road but an absolute blast to drive.

I got a 90 crx. Bought it off my grandparents. Its technically my second car but really my first in a sense. It sat in their barn because it had no back seat so whn i was born they put it away and userd their 84 corolla. The crx was taken out about a year ago. We took it to a mechanic and they did the simple replacing the relay and they replaced the front cv joints. Recently we took it to them again to blow out the heater fan because a mouse made a nest in it. We got the ac recharged and now its basically perfect. Becides for the fact a week ago a radiator hose sprung a leak so that needs replaced. Once thats fixed the only real issue is water getting in the trunk from a cracked seal which ill be repairing. Love the car.

Back in February a week after I turned 19 I bought a 1991 crx dx manual as my project car, it’s been through hell but I’m swapping a d16y8 and leaving the interior gutted and using it as my track car 🤙🏿

I think heated seats was a scandinavia-only option. I had a set of heated red-striped CRX seats that I didn´t install on mine, I sold them to the US, someone there has a really rare option x3

I write here before but my crx look a lot different than all them still have the original blue fade like old fade out but she is in 16 x8 wheels with 205 45 16 rear and 195 45 16 on front she looks real tuff bulky but with my engine set up and her cam sounds she really looks a lot bulky and old with her fade paint . For some reason my crx look a lot different than others paint it crx the paint take alway her beauty in my point of view for some reason in the crx.Plus people is crazy with her seems like from kits to females and seniors and guys always saying she looks gd old school style better than others crx they see .But her sound is like a old muscle car and believe me she can ramble fast and is all engine no vtec or turbo crap my is real simple nothing to it.i call my crx la nena my girl my celt she always sounds mad with the cam sound ready to ramble 😊.Gd video amigo ccr born in the byouooooo
