2JZ 9500RPM RACING VALVETRAIN HOW TO
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Hello guys and welcome to my channel. In this episode I will show you the next step on building the 2jz. One of the main factors on building a racing engine is setting proper clearances. In this video I will show you how to install the Supertech solid cam follower, how assemble and torque the components. this setup is capable of handling over 9500 rpm and over 1000hp. Very important if you are planning on 2 stepping or being on the limiter for extended periods of time like in drifting. Thank you Supertech and BrianCrower for supporting my build and allowing me to make these videos for you guys. If you missed a step not covered in this video. It is most likely in a previous episode or I would be more than happy to answer most of your questions in the comments section.
This setup is accompanied by Briancrower dual valve springs and titanium retainers, billet valve keepers and 272 stage 3 camshafts.

It’s nice someone is building a GE not many people build a GE we built a GE with BC 272/272, CP Pistons, Carrillo Rods, made 830whp on 28psi...

How'd you like the cp pistons? I've been considering a pretty similar build but one of my coworkers tells me they're loud af until they warm up

@@RotaryDaddy the cp’s has lose tolerances until the aluminum expands. I have a GE build right now. I grabbed GTE pistons and Manley Htuff rods. Gsc S1 vvti cams and springs Ti retainers.

I’m surprised these videos don’t have more views. Great job with showing how to put the 2JZ together.
I was waiting the whole video for a “dink”. The vvt selenoid was it lol

Great video Alberto, you are such a genius with engines. Love the ballet 🩰 touch on it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This thing is going to be a beast, great job brother.
Your videos are so enjoyable! Great content

Gotta love the New 2JC and the egg sauce haha.Love you alberbo!
Awesome videos my friend.😊💯🏁🏁🏁
Love ur vidz man ...
very informative video
Very good video
Finally Big Boost video
2jz🤘🏻🔥😎💪🏻
Great detailed vid bro, and love how you work clean and carefully. Question about the timing dot and line, what's the difference between the dot and line? I know one is TDC, what's the other?
this 2jz series is going to make me scream without the s
Oem shimless buckets are still lighter and cheaper, than shim-under conversion and piss easy to set up lash if you have access to valve stem grinding machine. Good 2jz content anyways. 👌
BIG BOOST 💪
Shimless buckets are something worth looking into
Great and involved vid n how too. Super awesome n happy as you’ve got and build you’re own 2jz. Respect. Question though. The torque specks. I don’t know if you got from factory spec. But would the same from factory spec work with a built engine??
@ALBERTOBIGBOOST
3 жыл бұрын
On everything using factory bolts yes. When using arp hardware is different
nice!
Will you use ecu master pnp adapter, if not you can make a full video how to make your own harnesse ?:)
ALBERTO, would you ever do a turbo 2J-FSE build?
🙌🏼🙌🏼
The old tensioner bracket has press in plain bushes which has a Teflon liner for a low friction surface. The new one has only been greased, how long is the grease going to last before metal on metal?
Thanks for making this after I upgraded my cams smh would have come in handy 3 days ago
What do you think about cam degree? Just curious because I seen most just slap cams in and still make power.
Definitely purple valve cover. Like yeah black would look good. But black imo is also just so normal?
@ALBERTOBIGBOOST

Purple might be a winner
i see you have an adjustable cam gear, are you going to degree the exhaust cam or is the adjustable cam gear just for looks?

What does the 2 allen bolts on intake cam cap 1 get torqued to?
What do you use for power steering brackets?
You going to run a sinco/6boost manifold or just that one you have currently brother? Choice video btw! Enjoying the content!

If you are building the head from scratch do you still need to do the measurements for the shim and buckets? I am learning 2jz engine

Hello Alberto this maybe a stupid question, are the torq specs the same for my 2jz gte vvti ?
Always found those digital snap on torque wrenchs can be very in consistent depending how you hold it. You can feel it's overtorqued but you reposition your hand & it's good... Returned mine for a non-digital.
BRRRRTTTTTT
Hey big boost I have a question about the GE heads for my 2j build. Do GTE intake and exhaust manifold bolt up to the GE heads or do I have to get an intake specifically for the GE?
@notsosoupy

you'll need ge specific ones
@Realtime1501

@notsosoupy

@ALBERTOBIGBOOST

Intake and exhaust flanges are different. This is where sometimes I say it might be better off doing a full gte swap. Unless going all out
When you measured the lash, aren’t you concerned with the angle you’re putting those straight feeler gauges in? The bucket angle is not in parallel to your feeler gauges. Why not use the step feeler gauges to avoid putting at an angle which will cause friction. Am I wrong?
19:43 alberto did that cam gear just jump timing? i saw that cam gear move over and the intake side didnt move at all.
@11onejay
3 жыл бұрын
i guess maybe realistically it didnt matter since u were holding the camshaft with a wrench right?
So then theres two ways of adjusting it cuz the manual says to adjust it from the top one that looks like the cr batteries
Yo Alberto do they make the belt in black or just green? Would hope the manufacturer would change that 🤷🏼♂️

Paint the valve covers black with a purple mist
permatex Aviation (80019) is better for cam cap seal, there is no chance of this ballooning and blocking the passage
is that only 10thou on the exhaust

These are an upgrade over the toyota shimless. Designed to last longer and hold up to heavy loads. The toyota shimless tend to crush and deform the top on high hp cars over time
