Have you heard about the most comprehensive book ever written on Cherry Shrimp? It includes information on how to keep, feed, and breed them, and it's written by my good friend Richard from Fishkeeping Answers. 🙂

Shrimp & crayfish look pretty much the same, so the cherry shrimp satisfy my love for crawdads because it is the perfect size for a home aquarium.

Instead of the large crayfish, how about some dwarf crayfish? CPOs, C. diminutus, etc. That large of a tank with lots of hiding places would be perfect for them. Good stuff as always!

So, I bought in a 50lbs of syieyu? rock to practice my hard scape builds on a table, then I put them in a 20long and has it running, after 3 pr more months of it going I still had iffy green algae but all the rocks and some of the glass had these worms. So someone said to raise ADF in the tank and they will almost be a tank you never have to feed. I have boiled the rocks, baked, sun dry.....name it to these the rocks over. two months later there were back, so my pied, platinum, albino an black adf have a 20b now. I do a frozen BS cube on rare, as I have a 200g reef as well. or I will chop up some earth worms, and then water change that night or next day etc. So, I was told Midge. ??

How about a salt mixing bucket that you use warmed water to help the salts disolve, then pour that into the big blue holding barrel. You could use an old heater to warm the water without having to risk it with a tank.

☀️☀️☀️MARK INSULATE YOUR COPPER PIPES. USE THE SELF ADHESIVE BLACK FOAM INSULATION. VERY EASY TO USE AND INSTALL. WOULD TAKE ABOUT 15 minutes. Also you should run a carbon filter on your storage container to remove any metals from your water pipes. Just run a carbon packed canister filter on it

love the chill updates however, seeing your duckweed gives me PTSD ... so glad I got rid of it years back. Ever since only salvinia for my shrimps/dwarf crayfish ... easier to control/remove, longer roots which the critters love to be in and it seems to suck up unwanted elements even better then duckweed. Dont rly follow your issues with the crayfish, most of the dwarf species control their population pretty well and adapt to all kinds of tank setups, should not have to be a thick jungle. But my diminutus are more similar to shrimp then crayfish anyway in behaviour and demands ... pretty much keep them in the same conditions as neocaridina, only difference I have a lot of dragonstone in crayfish tanks which provides a huge number of natural small caves for them which keeps the population up. What species you got there? I just assume its a dwarf species given the jungle.

How about some experiments with the lb and leaves? You could set up a couple of tanks, one with leaves and no lb, one with leaves and put lb, and repeat both tanks with and without shrimp. Start from a clean slate and leaves roughly the same size and measure how long it takes.

Hey Mark, could you give some track record with the sponge filter with the two massive sponges (in the first tank that you show us) - is that a good concept or is the sponge hard to clean because you don't get all the gunk out of the middle? I find it interesting solely because of the massive surface to graze on.
