Very big mistake that UK didn't deepened and enlarged it's land navigation channels. It is not too late, but now for a true modern shipment - maritim shipment channels.
Thank you for dealing with us rain folks always asking for rain videos. It’s an addiction and we are well aware lol

When I was a kid I grew up on a floatcamp (floating logging camp in British Columbia) the sound of rain on the water is a big part of my life. Thanks for recording that sound.
I sometimes scroll thro your videos to look at the titles as they make me laugh! then I see the picture and find I cannot resist to know more, having watched the videos I then feel its only polite to leave a comment 🙂

Hello there!
Your videos always are such a joy!
Blue to the mast, red to the fly, yellow to the deck and white to the sky. P and O flag. Love it. Great video
Liked it as soon as I heard "crunchy diesel" 😂

The masts you refer to are Turners Hill transmitters the one is a television transmitter and the other for radio.
Rivits is what we call in The Netherlands an "opduwertje", a small boat just big enough to carry a substantial motor and fueltank. They were used in the transition period from towed to self-propelled barges. Leashed to the side of a former towed barge they saved the owner a costly - if at all possible - refit of his barge.
I Love the little small dinghy boat is very cool
Boshboil, what an amazing name and word. :) Thanks for yet another entertaining and relaxing video!

Since being introduced to Edwin, he now seems to pop up in the background of other videos that I watch.

Always enjoy watching your videos on KZread. Your videos of just cruising were wonderful. I miss you not having your boat and doing those. But you are still on the canals, but more like a reporter now. You do a great job. David, I am glad you have a house now too. That can be very comforting in the wintertime especially. I watch all the time and enjoy your KZread channel. I just wanted to tell you it made a nice difference for me to watch you all these years. I especially liked when you met up with Anna and Kath from Lazy Days. They were favorites of mine too. Thanks so much.

Lovely video of a day out in the light rain. The boat you were on, Ferrous, had a very quiet engine and exhaust. Allowing you to record the rain noise. reminded me of the electric boat video I watched a couple of months ago.

I’m amazed that more people haven’t commented on the breaking wash, the small boat was creating. Having lived onboard a Narrowboat for over three years, the guidance has always been, if you are creating a breaking wash, you are going too fast.

This video would have made a very good BBC test film. Your probably too young to remember them. They were used at the start of the BBC 2 service about 1970. They were always fun, as is your video. Well done. I think the masts were turners hill. DAB and TV repeater if I am not wrong.

Travelling a peaceful canal ending at a community owned basin. So nice - an oasis of decency in what tonight is proving a corrupt and bitter world. When people mock enthusiasts I have always said it would be a much better place if more people were train spotters and bird watchers and how are happy to pootle up Britains waterways be it as a lifestyle or a holiday. With age I find comes wisdom.
Yes. It was grand. THANK YOU

Yoam bin in the Black Country. Since i retired I walk the route from Windmill End up to Parkhead most day's , but alas I don't usually bother to go if it's raining. If it had been dry I dare say I would have bumped into you at some point. It is a beautiful place to walk all around Windmill End, and the tall chimney we saw is Cobbs Engine house. The engine that was in it is now on display in the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit, USA. David in Dudley.
@davidpowell5437
Жыл бұрын
Actually, that's not quite correct. Henry Ford did obtain an engine from Windmill End, but it wasn't the big beam engine from the Engine House, it was a winding engine, apparently from the complex around it. I got curious and asked the museum! There were several pits on that hillside and the beam engine carried on pumping for all of them, long after its original pit closed. Mining finally ended in 1927, after the General Strike, when it was found to be uneconomic / impractical to restart work. Another David in Dudley 🙂
