The reason shorts work best when it comes to gen Z is because they have short attention span. That's why TikTok is more popular among that generation. I will continue to make content for both platforms but put my focus on short, more expressive videos (and then I boost them on one other platform to get that sweet kick start).

Wonderful tips. I noticed lots of KZreadrs are claiming that starting a new channel will be saturated and super difficult for new creators. The reason they say that is because they do not want you to take a piece of the cake. It will never be saturated and there's always more room for new creators. However I did notice that all the influencers are just keeping the real methods to themselves. I understood that after reading an eBook. No one is talking about how to outrank competitor videos, how to bring additional traffic outside YT, how to do proper off page SEO etc etc..

I had a serious health issue last year and had to stay away from creating content and because of that my channel went down. I started creating again this month and the views are not going high. I had serious health too and still push my self create 1 Shorts/day.. Yesterday my channel receive $99.5 from KZread Short Fund. My Feb 2023 adsense only $58. Hope will reach $200 untill end Feb.

This is an encouragement to all the new youtubers. I know that it seems that KZread is saturated and competitive but know that you are different and people can subscribe to hundreds of subscribers. It may be slow and time consuming but when it takes off you won't even notice the scars.

I used to be subscribed at one point to about 800 different people. Some of the people I subscribed to had millions of subscribers, but most ranged from below 1,000-50,000ish. You aren't wrong at all.

Adding a short summary of my long-form video at the beginning of my KZread shorts, and pinning it as the first comment, really boosted engagement. Just keep posting, I started posting on December 19 2022 and I already passed 600 followers. I started with zero, the more you upload per day the more chances you have to reach those 3 goals, followers, 10 reel views or 4,000 hours watched in a year…

I found when I schedule shorts they don't get picked up and don't get views but if I was to post the same short my self at the same time it dose get views. This was also tested on a friends channel as well

@@motivationtube5399 I never really had a lot of views to begin with. Lol. I did experience when one of my long form videos had 162 views, then the very next one had 52. My most recent have 6 and 0. So the algorithm is finicky I guess.

I've been experimenting with hashtags. For Shorts, I find the putting hashtags in the title is both the easiest method and also generates the most views. The alternative would be, as described in this video, going back and editing in the Details. I did that and left the hashtags in the description to avoid clutter on the screen, but the result is a huge drop off on views. Trying the standard now, leaving the tags where they belong in the tag bar, but it does not seem as effective as hashtags in the title for shorts. Thoughts?

You can't choose thumbnails on shorts if you upload it via desktop right now, but if you upload the short from mobile, you can choose the thumbnail, but it has to be a frame in the video.
