Hey Jonathan, glad to see you back. I am still new to home theater and was in need of 2 subs and was actually about to buy 2 DIY 15'' or 18" Dayton Audio Ultimax to build and test. However, a guy local to me made me a super deal on 2 - 12" Dayton Audio Ultimax ported subs, already built, along with a Behringer NX3000 amp for $475. For that price, I had to try them out. For my small 16' x 16' dedicated room, they sound pretty good. Look forward to the next video.

Given your experience with rhythmic subs and your straight forward approach I am anxiously awaiting an update on this video. That is literally the two options I am considering; one FV25HP or building 2-3 Dayton's. Thanks for sharing!!

LoL Welcome to the world of custom ported Subs! I'm sure you started at the Full Marty Thread, I Branched off and made mine a custom size and am damned near flat down to 10Hz, I've been damned impressed with mine for the cost to performance ratio. Since mine is standing and Huge I nick named it "The Hz Locker"

The sub looks like a beast. Can't wait to hear it! I'm sure it'll all work out for you, it's all about how much power you want to feed the beast. As for PSA that is not cool how he treated you, especially you're one of his customer. In a way I'm glad you shared the story, you just save me some money. 👍

I take it that since you have now decided to go with the Captivator 4000, that you were not that impressed by the DIY solution? How would you compare the 1 Dayton UM18 to a single FV25HP? The reason I am asking is because I have had dual mini martys before and although they measured well and have decent performance for their price, they seemed shallow and not thick enveloping bass experience I thought they would be. I also currently run dual SVS PB16 ultras, which I love and they do sound amazing, they also offer a more enveloping bass experience that my mini martys did. I am not considering trying out dual FV25HP's. How would you compare them to a DIY? What is the main reason you sold them? Would you consider them an extreme bass experience? Have you ever heard a PB16 ultra before and if so, how would you compare the FV25HP to one? I would be very interested in hearing some detailed thoughts from you about the FV25's if you have a few minutes to chat. Thanks for keeping us up to date on what is going on with your system.

I contacted your speaker manufacturer and asked for the Frequency response graph of their floor-standing speakers that you own and show on your channel. Guess what? They sent me the FR of the horn. Not the compression driver and horn just the plastic horn. WTF? I asked for an impedance graph and I was told the speakers were "about 6 Ohms". Again WTF? They must be REALLY bad to hide that information from a potential buyer. I design and build my own speakers (then test them) so I know they are hiding something they don't want disclosed. IMO stay the H3ll away from them. Love your channel dude.

I’ve just bought 2 of these in sealed boxes and can’t wait for delivery. Picked up a Behringer NX6000 to drive ‘em & a power conditioner today. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

I tried that and the Signal was clipping On the inukes.. could have been that my Pioneer was not sending a strong enough signal..Returned the inuke and tried the crown xls 2502 and same issue. Purchased Dayton audio spa 1200 plate amp and now these bad boys wanna destroy my house foundation....

you need to get the jtr4ks. That is the only sub on the market that will accomplish what you are looking for. I had dual cap1400s in my dedicated room and that was nuts, never pushed them to the limit.

I know you want to go big. Im a bass head too i just aint got the room if i did i would defintly be doing what your doing. Can't wait to see what you decide to do.

i can already tell a difference with the 18's vs. the 15's i was using. i think i want to get the most value i can and the 18" dayton subs seem like the best choice right now, but i might pick up a stereo integrity sub just to see how much fun is possible...

Wait... Jonathan, have you ever measured your room? If you are not getting "good" bass from your previous three Rythmik dual 15 subs, your room may be the problem. You might have a huge suck out where you are putting the subs.

Zachary Faley i have no ill will towards psa. i've had numerous conversations with tom over the past couple years, and i can tell he's a fellow enthusiast and has a deep passion for this hobby. i really wish he made a sub that appealed to me because clearly his devotion to excellent customer service is head & shoulders above the competition. however, merely stating a fact that he has not (in a long time) & will not send his products for 3rd party testing and getting berated by fanboys for as much is absolutely ridiculous. i wish him & his company nothing but the best, and i really do love the mtm 210t's i own, i just think it's a crock of shit him saying that he'd rather squeeze "one more order out the door" rather than send a product out for testing. he can do both if he chose to. clearly it's his prerogative to do as he wants, and it's mine not to purchase his products anymore after the public verbal whipping he gave to me over on the avsforum. btw, congrats on the new subs, they look killer

Jonathan Lindhome thank you man. I will say the other upgrade I’m super happy about is finding the velvet on Amazon. I’m on my second order of it and it’s such a big difference. I bought some junk at a local store that looks grey by comparison and they charge so much for it. I hope you find the bass bliss you seek. I’m still tuning these new subwoofers. I know they will make many people quite happy but don’t think they will be for everybody. The Neo sound signature is so different it takes getting used to. I do love what I hear though

I think this particular situation with PSA and Data-Bass is generally blown way out of proportion. Tom's response in the forum to the question of independent testing often comes across as being very blunt. This is most likely due to the fact that the question gets asked over and over and he has stated numerous times his reasoning behind not sending subs to be tested. There are subs from a lot of companies that have never been tested by Data-Bass and Tom has only stated that if Data-Bass testing is important to you as a customer, then you should look elsewhere. I value the other attributes of PSA as a company far more which is why I am a PSA customer. While I have absolutely no idea what the max burst numbers are for my subs at 15 hz or what the 3rd harmonic distortion at 35 hz is during a 120db sweep, I know that I have more output than I need and that the sound signature is incredible. I also know that if I have any issue whatsoever, Tom will be there to stand behind his product regardless of how busy he is. I am not a "fan boy", but do appreciate when a company creates a good product for a fair price and stands behind it with unparalleled customer service.

Does anyone have a think to the thread? I’d like to read it for myself. Having not read it yet I agree with Tom. If data bass testing is important to you as a consumer than PSA aren’t the products for you. No big deal
