    Well, it's not unheard of, but this year it did seem unusual.

    I am also approaching 28 days of quarantine..Since I live alone, it's been lonely, but not as bad as I thought. It's already warm here in Texas, so I've been working in the yard. Ready to plant flowers when we can go to the store again. If not, I'll probably order some. I can't figure out how to grow vegetables here...I think I'm still trying to grow Michigan veggies in Texas climate. LOL

    I suspect it would be quite warm in Texas by now. I don't know how one deals with the differences in gardening, but I suspect the local agricultural extension would have tons of information available.

    @@Realunitedstates Good advice. I checked with them last year. I guess it's just too late to teach an old dog new tricks. I plant things, they seem to thrive, then one day the sun just cooks them. Too hot for tomato's to set, which is what I'd really like to grow. Haven't had a non hot house tomato since I moved here in 2015.

    It snowed all morning here. It only just stopped about half an hour ago. I assumed it would snow, as my birthday is Saturday. Lol. Always. Our friend who has a greenhouse started a bunch of seeds for me! So nice. Today I'm starting some herbs. Just a few to keep me busy. ♡♡

    The US is rapidly catching up, sadly. Michigan is one of the hardest hit states. We are staying home and isolated. Today is day 29, and we're doing well.

    Those were some mega flakes of snow. I think I ended up taking video of snow fall right around then as well bc it looked pretty but also had been such a surprise on the day. After the heat we've been having this week I wish I could teleport back briefly to winter to breathe in some of that crisp cold air. Of course if you wanted to be entirely reckless during a global pandemic time travel is both the best and worst ways to break quarantine! Having the middle of your squash so moist after this long is lucky and likely down to your own good picking+ storage as well. Always lovely when something you aren't expecting to be so excellent is. Hope you guys are both well, as I said in my email I am starting to work through videos to apologies for the multiple comments all in one go and expect to see more of me over the next while as I keep working my way through. Hope you're both well :)

    Annie, thank you, and yes, we are both well. Exhausted, but well. The days a re long, hard and laborious this time of year, but it has its benefits: I've lost eight pounds and Bev has lost weight as well. I did receive your email, but have not had the opportunity to read it. I too, get behind as often as not, and in what I have some to think of as the season of triage the garden almost always get priority to everything else. Which is largely why I haven't made a new video in a while. So glad to hear from you, and keep the comments coming, I will get back to you as soon as I can.

    @@Realunitedstates the garden is no doubt a lot of work and I'm sure it's more than busy at this point in the season! Glad to hear things are coming along well with it. No rush at all on replying to emails or otherwise, only mentioned the former as I was conscious I was repeating what I had said there with that but not sure if you would have read it yet. Although far from important in the grand scheme of things. That's some hard earned weight loss but you both must be sleeping well after such long and busy days. (At least I hope you are!)

    Evan, thanks! We're doing okay. I probably spend way more time cooking than I should, but all in all things are going well. Good to hear from you. I hear the weather there is getting nice already, and we are so looking forward to it getting warmer here . . . eventually.

    yeah, good to see you're both doing ok in quarantine! -- I use pressed fiber egg cartons too all the time to create cells; you can as well put the whole cell in the soil w/o removing the cup -- I just poke some slits in the sides with a utility knife. -- PS These potato chip sized snow flakes are just insane...! :O

  • @Realunitedstates

    That's a good point that the egg carton cells can just be planted along with the plant and allowed to decompose. And yes, those snow flakes do seem really big. It was so distracting that I just had to go out and video a little bit of it to share.

    Hi Campbells! Have you ever had green tea ice cream? I ate at a Japanese restaurant in Saginaw years ago and they served it for dessert. Although I often drink it I was very skeptical of it in ice cream. It was delicious! If you haven't already I suggest you try it! April snow in Michigan? Not surprised at all. It's 80 today in Georgia.

    Terry, yes we have had green tea ice cream, and red bean ice cream also. Both are really good. I have macha powder on hand for things like cookies or cakes or yes, even ice cream. Although admittedly it has been years since I cooked those sort of things.

  • @Realunitedstates

    @Realunitedstates

    Well, it's not so much a recipe as it is a list of the mundane activities of life: eating, sleeping, toiletry, bathing, cleaning, doing dishes, taking out the trash, emptying the garbage, laundry, so there is an enormous amount of "whatever" in the course of life.
