_________
For the next 28 days, I want you to:
1) Include at least 2 servings of soups everyday. You can either have it for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
2) Choose only low-calorie vegetable or broth based soupS. For instance chunky vegetables, pureed vegetables, clear chicken or beef broth.
3) Avoid cream-based soups especially those loaded with heavy cream, cheese and pasta.
4) Avoid instant can or powdered soup. Those soups tend to be high in calories, fat and sodium, which defeats the whole purpose of adding soups into your diet.
5) If possible, go for homemade soups. If you want to use ready soup stocks for convenience, then opt for the low sodium or low fat variety.
_________
Here are 10 reasons why you should include soups into your diet:
1) It’s very nutritious
You’re basically getting a good balance of protein, carbs and healthy fat all in one bowl. This gives you energy and keep you going for the entire day!
2) You feel full quicker and longer
The combination of water and solids in soup fills you up quicker and longer because it expands the stomach.
3) Reduce total caloric intake
Because soup can fill you up for very few calories, eating soup on a daily basis means that you’re more likely to eat less, crave less, which can help to further reduce your total daily calorie intake and lead to weight loss or to maintain a healthy weight.
4) Increase your water intake
The basis of soup is basically water. So eating soup will contribute to your daily water intake and keep you hydrated.
5) Meet your 5-a-day
If you hate eating your veggies, pureed vegetable soup is the easiest ways to add more vegetables into your diet without feeling like you’re forced to eat your veggies.
6) Great for digestion
The high water content of the vegetables in soup promotes healthy digestion by flushing out toxins in the body. If you suffer from water retention, bloating or constipation, try adding soups into your diet.
7) It’s easy!
Anybody can whip up a good bowl of soup. Even if you can’t cook, it’s almost impossible to mess up. It’s a one-pot dish, you can keep adding more of something into the pot until it turns out fine.
8) You can make-ahead
Whether chilled or warm soups, you can make-ahead in large batches. Keep them chilled in the fridge, or freeze them up and reheat when ready to eat. They’ll last for many weeks and it’s so convenient.
9) It’s affordable
Vegetables, broths and water are cheap. You can easily cook a large pot of soup at a very low cost to feed the entire family to keep them full and healthy!
10) It’s comforting
No matter what cultural background you’re from, a bowl of soup is ALWAYS comforting. It is also very nourishing, restorative, light and very easily digested, especially when we’re ill.

3rd day on my liquid diet. I added broth in it today and it’s so very good. I’m planning on doing this for 30 days plus I’m working out 5-6 days a week. I gained weight after breaking my ankle. I have a good 20 1bs to lose and I’m determined to do it

I did a liquid/soup only diet for a month and lost 25 lbs. filling up with soy milk and broth and soup is very easy. Soup diets are good because there are noodles etc in them so you don’t feel totally like you’re not eating!

OMG! This came up in my feed and falls in line with how I am eating these days; modified my healthy eating plans. This is fantastic. I actually made my own soup last Saturday with broccoli, cauliflower and chicken breast; also added a can of carrot and peas since I had it 😀. Used chicken stock and water to make a large amount of broth. I seasoned with fresh herbs and the usual seasonings. Blended everything and strained it. Soooo deeeelicious and I drink a cup before one or two meals for the day.

Joanna--- I luv your video!! Not only is it Modern, Relevant...but Practical. I just adore that you highlighted balanced meals, vegan options, affordability (especially for concerned families), the satiety effect. Gosh, if the world would be a much better place, if more 'nutrition advisors' would jump on board with lending more thoughtful & well-informed advice...instead of 'quick fixes' & crash diets. Awesome work :-)

I’m 62 and vegan. I just started my raw food 80/10/10 diet. 80% of the diet is raw fruits and vegetables. I want to eat 2 meals-a fruit meal and a vegetable meal early in the day. Then follow with soup later in the evening when I want to eat again but don’t want to eat too much before bed. Having some miso broth and even some herbal teas in the evening will help curb my appetite. Thank you again. ❤️😃

To me best works 8oz x2 times per day soups, usually in morning and evening. It's containing cruciferous and dark green leafy veggies (ones thats not high in oxalates or lectins and doesnt grow under ground, not much starch-sugar), also adding 100g white meat to my portion, mixing it all inside, and it's ready to be consumed. I do nothing and weight drops insane. I eat only those thick soups I make and nothing else, so it's liquid diet

Last night I made chicken w/enchilada sauce & added Eddamane beans, white kidney beans, white pinto beans & low sodium chicken broth. Turned out so good. I do have cans of Progressive soup? Is it okay to use one can w/home made like if I do a can for lunch & home made for dinner or vice versa. Will it still work?🤗🐽✌❤

I did a soup diet... I lost 14lbs in 2 weeks,,,,,, omg.... you need to be close to a bathroom. I recommend eating soup for 3 days then adding in some solids then a combo of soup and soft foods.

This is NOT a restrictive plan where you're only expected to eat soup (I don't believe in that either), but rather it's meant to introduce soup into your diet and gain the benefits. It's a balanced meal plan which includes a balanced of carbs, protein, vegetables and healthy fat. It's also a great alternative for those who do not fancy salads. Do watch the video through to fully understand it and click on the meal plan links. =)
