Heidi is back in the meadow with Peter and the goats. She couldn’t be happier, especially when Peter asks her to fulfil her duty as Goat General. Meanwhile, Karl gets in trouble and falls into a shaft near the Devil’s Bridge and needs the urgent help of Peter. William fetches Peter and Peter has to leave Heidi with the herd up in the meadow. The only problem is that Goldfinch, Peter’s goat, is about to deliver her baby goat and Heidi will have to assist her.
Also that day, Grandfather understands that Heidi needs to go to school and he goes to the village to talk to the teacher and see if he can move to the Manor for the winter with Heidi.
