Same here. When I bought my 27 inch monitor I was overwhelmed. Coming from a 21 inch, I thought it was too big. I visited several Internet forums and everyone told me that 27 inch is a big no no for competitive gaming. Fast forward two weeks, I absolutely love it. I got used to it so fast that now going back to 21 inch seems impossible for me. And my gaming has never been better, I play pubg competitively and my performance has gotten even better. I'd be kicking myself if I'd gotten a 24 inch.

This was a great review, but as usual can't meet everyone's desires in terms of what you show. It would have been massively helpful to see desktop icons on the P2423D (like are shown on the P2723D) to get an idea of the useful workspace. These happen to be under my consideration and that is why I make the comment. As is also usual, this was a great review!

I've been debating whether this will be good for my casual gaming purposes (considering I am looking for something with high PPI and great colors for other uses). 60FPS is enough for me and learning that the input lag is 3ms is phenomenal news (as it was not listed anywhere I looked)

@@TotallydubbedHD I ended up getting it and... I have to say, the image quality is amazing both in terms of colors and clarity. However, the 2K resolution seems to come with some downsides - Windows interprets the Display as having a 59.5Hz refresh rate whereas Nvidia Control Panel shows 60Hz I ended up getting minor but annoying image stuttering in videos because of it... I seem to have fixed it by enabling GPU scaling in NVidia Control Panel but still - it was quite annoying before I found a way to fix it. Additionally, it appears this Dell is a bit slower than my previous monitor (Viewsonic VX2263) and I see more blurriness whenever I make fast motions in FPS games (or maybe it's because of the bigger display and/or more pixels) - I didn't think I would notice a difference but, here I am :D As you said yourself, a gaming monitor would be the better option for gaming purposes.

After 20 years of gaming and 15 of photography i didn't searched for the best thing that money could buy,i went smart and used the best of both worlds. I had two monitors,1 LG 27' 4k and a Dell 24' 1080p at the same time but after i got rid of the Dell...i found the 27' to be too big for daily use and tiring no matter the calibration, settings, etc,it is the distance between me and the monitor. Right now i was searching for a downgrade and to stop using two monitors i started looking for this Dell P2423D that i think it would be the best upgrade from a 1080p/same size monitor. This review was enough for me to thank you for it!

Is the higher DCI P3 color space of the latter noticeable in practice? I need to do video editing from time to time and I'm torn between the two, prefer the specs of the U2520D but prefer the size and the design of the P2423D (I'm eyeing the P2423DE to be more specific for its USB-C functionality)...

The 27“ 5k Display im used to, is insane. 24“ and 1440p is much worse. I’m fearing that the scaling won’t properly work so everything looks about same size🤔 sny thoughts to this?

So it's really not easy to give a general recommendation. 24s are also significantly cheaper. It also depends on which resolution, Hz and game you want use it. But 24 is also not bad if you don't want the bigger screens. I had 2 used 24 IPS in the past and I was very happy with them. Now I got a new 27 curved panel with 240hz to play more shooter games.

all videos I find are 24'' 1080p vs 27'' 1440p comparison. Of course, the 27'' 1440p monitor will be better than the 1080p monitor. But what about a 24'' 1440p vs 27'' 1440p monitor comparison? for me the 24'' 1440p monitor would be better because I don't want to sit farther away and it would be better for ppl that don't have enough desk space. I know there are not many 24'' 1440p gaming monitors, I've only seen the AOC one xd. But If these youtubers make videos comparisons of 24'' 1440p gaming monitors probably the demand and production will increase.

You need to think a little. It's because there are barely any 24" 1440p monitors on the market, and yes indeed AOC finally made one. So, doing a video on monitor sizes that are scarce, doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

@@TotallydubbedHD like I said, if youtubers, game streamers and bloggers review, compare and recommend (if the monitor is good) those 24'' inch 1440p monitors... the demand and production of such monitors will increase. There are the AOC and Koorui 24" inch 1440p monitors that could be recommended. So far I've seen mostly positive feedback about the AOC monitor, hopefully big brands start to make those monitors. If phones and laptops can have 1440p+ resolution with small screen, I don't see why pc users can't have that in a 24'' screen. But maybe that's just my opinion because I don't want to sit far away from the screen and be able to look from edge to edge of the screen without having to move my head, and I'm pretty sure there are many like me who want that. There were 24" 1440p monitors before but most players used and recommended 27" because thats what manufacturers started to make and promote.

No matter i do with resolution and text size at 100-125-150% or switching the resolution from 2500x to 1900x the LS27 just did not match my likings. At QHD and 125% it is somehow exactly the same as FHD 100% but not in every app. At QHD my icons and everything on the screen was TOO small, with 125% ok but when i go inside the game i play everything was messed up (Lineage II) when i switch it to FHD and 100% all was perfect except in the game where everything become larger. So for compare 27” at FHD and 100% is noticeable bigger than QHD and 125% While QHD at 125% is same as 24” FHD 100% (except some apps) so there is no full happiness for those of us who play old school games.

@@u.mat88 and replying to you too, there's something called "retina", ever heard about it? Although not even 27 4k is retina Every display has a distance that technically makes it equivalent to one. 24" 1080p "retina point" is at 95cm away, just like 32 1440p since the pixel density is the same. But 24 1440p retina point is at 70cm. While 27 retina point is at a distance of 80cm. Basically Unless you have really bad sight you will notice the extra sharpness, since hardly someone use a 24 1080P screen at a distance like 90cm. Unless you have really bad sight and don't wear glasses. Some people also think 4k is too much for 27", but others don't. Probably because some sit further, being unable to notice the difference. My conclusion is that only 4k would be overkill to 24, and 1440 24 is a decent option, but usually 27 1440p is just a better option. But people have different preferences, so you have to decide about it yourself. Only ask to make your own conclusion Not to let others decide what will be yours.
