I have 24" and 27" full HD monitors. Honestly, I’m much more comfortable using the 27-inch one, because it’s larger and there’s no need to move it close to me, as is the case with the 24-inch one, on which everything is too small. Yes, you have to move much closer to see the pixels on 24 inches than on 27 inches, but in both cases you have to move uncomfortably close to see the pixels on them. If you sit in front of these monitors at a reasonable distance, approximately at arm's length, the pixels are not visible anywhere, and therefore in this case a 27-inch monitor looks more advantageous in comparison with 24 inches, because it is larger, which gives more pleasure in games, movies and the program interface, where there are a lot of small details, then when the 24-inch at arm's length seems too small, which is why you have to move it closer, in turn, this is not good for your eyes. What I mean is that 27 inches for full HD is not something bad or criminal if you have made this purchase. On the Internet they say differently how bad it is, but from personal experience I would prefer 27 inches full HD.

A thing to keep in mind is that uneven display scaling degrades performance because it has to calculate a lot behind the scenes, so it's not always recommended to use them. Also, if you work with Macs, they don't have the scaling Windows has, so you'd have to keep in mind that you'll mostly be able to use either 100% or 200%. Unless you buy really high-res screens or Apple's Studio displays..

I think for him I'd recommend something lower than 100PPI, for example: - 24.5"/24" 1080p - 32" 2K - 4K I wouldn't really recommend, unless you'd work on 200% and he really wants things to look very sharp and detailed (But for people with bad eye sight, I don't think it will that noticiable) and the price will get really high as well.

there is a thing you can do on windows to fix text clarity issues, i think it's called adjust clear type text or something. if you type clear type on the search you will probably find it. give it a try and see if it fixed your problems. there are some screens that are bgr instead of rgb, making it harder to read on those. from what i have heard you can fix that (i kid you not) by turning the screen upside down (effectively turning the bgr into rgb) but i think that way you lose features like g-sync/free-sync if i'm not mistaken.

@@user-qx3ve5kv9m i'm not sure how much the philips costs but consider getting the 27" 1440p ips 170hz gigabyte m27q if it's close in price. just make sure you get the rev 2.0 version instead of the rev 1.0 cuz the rev 1.0 has bgr instead of rgb and u will still have text clarity problems with it. from all the research i have done the m27q (rev 2.0) is the best 1440p monitor for a relatively low price.

    Hello. I want to buy a PC with rtx 3060ti and i5-12400f and 16gb ddr4 3200Mhz, is it worth taking 2k 27 inch 144 Hz or 1080 p I don’t know, some say don’t buy, some buy?

Depends on the game you want to play, if you're a hardcore competitive gamer, then opt for 1080p. But personally I would pick 1440p as per the video.

Is ultrawide 34 3440x1440 too much for someone with monocular vision? Should I get a 27 4k instead?

@@TotallydubbedHD Im using a AOC 24G2 144z IPS FHD. Its great, but I dont play competitive games so 1080p is not a place to stop now...and I think 4k 60 is better than qhd 144 unless its ultrawide. Most games I play is always 60 fps locked (emulators, genshin impact, singleplayer with raytracing even locked at 30). Other point to consider is most ultrawide monitors here is all VA panels idk if I would like it after using IPS for so long. Thanks for your video btw!

@@Kkain1so going to a UW might be a very big difference for you, but at the same time, you might appreciate the fact that you can multitask much better and have far more on the screen vs a 24.5". The biggest issue I'd have if I were in your shoes in scaling for the older games, be it at 1440p, UW 1440p or 4K. It's really hard to call what would be best in your situation, as it's the first I've heard of it in the comments section. I guess you could try and see, worse case return? And thanks, glad you liked the video!

my personal opinion is to not go for ultra wide, a 27" 1440p at 165hz would be great for most things. you also don't have to go for samsung since i'm assuming it will be very expensive. the gigabyte m27q (rev2.0) seems to be a great value to performance monitor from the research that i have done. other factors that you might consider is whether you want to use the monitor for professional work, then maybe going for 4k 32+ inch might be better. also if the budget isn't a problem you can go for a qd-oled instead of an ips panel. you also gotta keep in mind that if you go for 4k you will also have to spend way more on a better gpu, cpu, cpu cooler and compatible motherboard to be able to properly run your games at that resolution.

comparing the ppi seems kinda pointless because a 27" monitor that's slightly farther away will look the same as a 24" monitor that's a bit closer. It just comes down how much of your view you want to be filled by your monitor. The main advantage of a big monitor is that you can move it farther away which is healthy and relaxing for the eyes but the drawback is that you need more space to do that.
