I can’t tell you how much I loved this video as someone the same age as you who has just gotten back into reading the past year, after studying literature throughout all of my teen years. Same with Life of Pi and The secret history, i would ad for me 4321, Alias Grace, Dead Souls, The road, Agota Kristof "The notebook" trilogy, Knut Hamsun "Hunger" and a hungarian modern classic "Föld,Föld" Sandor Marai. This books shaped me as a reader

A Very Happy 27th Birthday to you !!! What a fun way to celebrate. I remember doing "book reports" in grade school, but for the life of me I have no memory of doing any assigned reading. I think a couple of books that really influenced me have been "Surfacing" by Margaret Atwood and "The Edible Woman" also by Margaret Atwood.

I think just Dorian Gray and Of Mice & Men. One you mentioned that I'm very eager to try soon is A Thousand Splendid Suns, although I've yet to read Kite Runner too so maybe that as well.. too many books on the tbr!

yes I would def recommend to read the kite runner before a thousand splendid suns as I think the latter book is definitely a step up! hope you enjoy them when you get round to them (I know the struggle of having a never ending TBR !!)
