265: Christina Cox, Actor, Multiple Roles in Stargate (Interview)

Ойын-сауық

We never felt we got enough of actor Christina Cox in Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, mainly because she made such a mark with her three roles! We are excited to have her on LIVE to talk "T'akaya," "Kershaw," "Teldy" and more!

So grateful for this interview. Christina Cox really doesn't do public appearances like this very often but when she does I'm always struck by how thoughtful she is and by how natural a storyteller she is when sharing anecdotes.

I loved Chistina's portrayals of her Stargate characters, and was so pleased when she was cast as Major Teldy in Atlantis. She led a great team, all women as Major Sheperd noted, picked from the brightest and the best Teldy quipped back. She's a great actress and always enjoy whatever I see her in. Great interview David, keep up the good work. :-)

Al Pacino David.. My God this was a great Interview, she is an Amazing person beyond a talented and intelligent actor. Defying Gravity was the second go around of the story, the UK/EU version was cool too, but from a more clinical perspective. What they did with the US/Canada was even better, Ty Olsen was great too. I loved how she discussed and described her craft, and you tied it back to the Torri and Rachel interview.. your building an Actors perspective story arc here. She really has the recognition of a Richard Dean Anderson, current year she could play a role like Jack did for the original Stargate SG-1. Nice to hear a call out for Nicole De Boer, she was great in Dead Zone.. and that little show DS9.

Hey - A 'Whispers' watch party with all of the 'Squad' and maybe a couple of the guys, that would be something I would watch for certain. I don't know if it's the best episode of SG-A, but it's in the running. Might be the best.

My daughter is in most ways an introvert and has a hard time doing simple things like ordering a pizza, but she can take the stage and do her part without fear. Doesn't make sense to me, but that's her mechanics.

I wish you would show a little clip or even a still from the show so we could recognize the actors. Some of them don't look familiar out of character.

Just a thought, it would be nice if at the beginning of the show, you put on screen a photo of the actors(s) in the various roles, just to refresh our memories.

Join the club. I will think about this. For the one that I did for Christina, I made sure to announce all of her characters at the beginning. I think that is a fair compromise.

I hate to sound like an ingrate, really I do but I caught both of today's shows live and had them both interrupted by KZread ads like political ads, yuck. Which I would ignore normally but they both made me miss a few seconds of each episode. Is there any way to turn these off? Is there a way we can suggest guests somewhere other than posting here? Otherwise I'll keep commenting here but I didn't know if there's a better place to do that. (I wanted to suggest John Novak who also did an episode each of MacGyver and Sanctuary).

I don’t ask for any money from viewers, but the only compensation I do get for this work is via KZread advertisements. The ads that play are outside of my control, but the ad frequency is the default amount. I have not increased them to milk you. If you still cannot watch the programming based on those conditions, the Audio podcast is available as well. But it is always about a month behind.

@@DialtheGate I didn't mean to imply you were doing it on purpose or increased them - it's just what KZread does now on all their videos; was just wondering if there was a way around it. I honestly don't mind except they randomly played right in the middle of them talking. I wish they would at least play them before or after the video - which they do - instead of sticking them right in the middle so you miss a few seconds of what was said and have to rewind. But I blame KZread, not you - sorry for not making that clear before.

@@ilurvemv I subscribe to KZread Premium on a monthly basis, and it provides two benefits I find worth paying for. 1. No ads play ever 2. You can save videos in the Downloads section of the phone app for playback later without having to pay for LTE data - I also pay for KZread Premium through Google direct, so its less than through the Apple Store with the iTax. The money saved from data-less playbacks on my phone while driving more than pays for the much smaller cost of the KZread subscription, and it gets me Ad-free playbacks both on my phone and on my desktop. The playbacks are also Ad-free on AppleTV and any other device I happen to use with the same Google account. All n All its a huge savings.. but I wish all of KZread were free.

The only way to properly be in Star Wars is to time travel back. Nothing new even counts. Not sure what's worse the latest Star Wars or the last 2-4 seasons of Doctor Who, can't even really say when it all went to the garbage bin. Really the only good thing i've seen that's newish is Fallout.

That Whispers was a dreadful episode. Literally the most unrealistic episode of the show just to tick feminism boxes. No military outfit on the front line would be all women. I just cringed all the way through that episode and haven't watched it since.
