Yes but there’s always a better way to tell the truth and sometimes the least said the soonest mended. People who feel they need to tell harsh truths to others are often doing it out of ego…I am right and I am going to say what I want and when it comes to others criticising them, they get very upset.

  • @Cradle2Venus

@@theinngu5560 tone policing is basically an insistence that a position or opinion be sold through slogans. By definition, if there's "always a better way", there is no best way to say the thing, and good ways to say the thing is subjective to the first person to clutch their pearls with a gasp. Firstly, that's petty tone policing to require a bow on the truth. Secondly, until a highschool bully told me I was 100lbs overweight I just considered myself chubby. the bully is one of my best friends to this day 25 years later because I truly believe he has given me years in my life and a lifestyle I couldn't even enjoy in my former condition in my teens, and I'm in my 40s now. Feelings don't matter as much as the truth. Swallowing emotions and looking objectively at an opinion is more important than looking for reasons to not listen to an unflattering truth.

Yeah, my friend married a South African, and moved out there. All the (uninformed) locals said it would be great since the end of Apartheid, and they'd go visit her in the new paradise. The whole family moved to the UK within a year, she had 2 employees literally cut to pieces because they worked for a white family. She had to carry a Beretta in her handbag because she could be attacked at any minute, and no one would help her.

You guys are suffering from the wicked racism of your ancestors, You need to stop looking at yourselves as some sort of superior people detached from all the issues, and understand you need to find a way to win the trust of indigenous South Africans and come together to rebuild your country. This will not be easy, but creating a segregated race of people will only further inflame the situation . Your ancestors left you with a huge reintegration problem. You can do it, but it will be a long and sometimes painful road.

So many good people in SA, across race etc. I do think she was referring to boer farmers being murdered on farms and sadly, they are targeted for being precisely that "white farmers", but not all SA are targeting the white farmers - equally there are other murders in urban areas (across race, gender etc) ... As with life, the reality is always more complicated than a simple black versus white argument. Important to keep a greater or higher perspective - which for the most of us, SA is home to all across race, class, gender etc. But, the MSM don't cover the majority of simply good people who are peace loving & solutions finding & hard working family and community oriented human beings.

I moved to Poland back to my wife's home town nearly 2 years ago. I'm a British man at heart and am proud to be english but I feel the same as you guys as it makes me sad to see the state of the UK. It's going to hell in a hand basket and it's only getting worse. Moving abroad really opens your eyes and you can see how things should really be done. Such a better quality of life. People are happier, even if they don't have much as far as material things are concerned. I just wish more people knew this and maybe there is a slim chance the UK could be as nice of a place as it used to be.
