That Burley trailer at the end looks fantastic for families who don't have a full-on cargo bike. It looks great for dropping kids off and then go on a Costco run.

I'm hoping they think to make available dog-specific straps'harness for those of us that can't trust Fido to not jump when they see a kangaroo and don't want a single strap that chokes. (I'd basically need to strap my dog in like Hannibal Lecter on the dolly in "Silence..")
Finally a video from Euro Bike that shows all less covered products. Thanks.
This is the Eurobike video I was waiting on ^__^
Thanks for showing something different. There's so much more than super and expensive bikes.
That “AI” light seems like it does the same brake sensing my $20 aliexpress light does.
The Ortlieb rack looks really cool, and could work for thru-axle bikes that don't even have rack eyelets!

Yes, but ortlieb is hitting at a reasonable price point. I can just about stomach spending £70 on a rack, considering the amount of use I put my bikes through. Tailfin's pricing makes my wallet weep.

I've already got the "old" QR rack + some of the classic panniers to go with it, wasn't cheap but feels super solid when you clip it in, I can certainly recommend it if the ~$100 price tag doesn't scare you (yes it's affordable for what it is, but a 'standard' rack could be half that and still just as solid). Being able to take it off even when the panniers are on it is super handy, I've found. Makes a nice handle for carrying both bags or standing them up somewhere. Nicest thing about the rack IMO, aside from build quality, is the fact that a new set of eyelet mounts is like $8 so you can in theory just buy one rack and have a set of mounting hardware on as many bikes as you like, so it swaps easily between them! I'm kinda hopeful the thru-axle won't be too expensive, since at the moment I use the rack on a MTB and I'd love to also mount it to my gravel bike, but since the sizing's a bit different the rack doesn't sit level on one if you set it up for the other. More mounting options will help with keeping it fitted to multiple bikes.

It would allow many "race only" carbon bikes to be used for bikepacking or touring as well.
8:57 that isn't ai, that's just an accelerometer. Magicshine and other brands have lights which have done this for years. Why is everything sold as AI even when its not?
Beer and art supplies 😂. This man knows his audience.

I met the guys who developed it and found them to be super cool. If you want to support their work, a quick tip: they are currently/in the near future (not entirely sure) running a crowd funding to finance the production of the rack.

its a neat idea but 2kg for a bike rack is kindve ridiculous. i feel like you'd be better of just keeping a non-collapsing large-sized bike rack on the bike permanently rather than a super heavy one that can collapse
@Coppice1

I've seen rear seat stay mounts crack, I wouldn't like to hang 40kg off it that far back. I always use a seat collar with built in rack mounts.

40kg mounted BEHIND the rear axle = guaranteed wheelies everywhere, all the time! 😂
@19jaan

At the moment I have a rack which supports 50kg. My problem is the position of the panniers. With my size 17 shoes I need more space to pedal without scratching my panniers reasoned in the length of the chainstay. Next bike I will get for sure a much longer chainstay. But for now that rack is the cheapest solution to my problem. As a 6'6 person I don't think I'm in danger to wheelie up any hill due to the nice geometry of the rest of my bike.
So cool, didn’t know the Europbike shows so fancy bike packing stuff!
collapsing tongs and folding pedals. looks like everything I never needed

Tongs look like garbage, but I really like folding pedals so I don't stab myself in the calf while loading my bike onto the train. Unfortunately, the two sets I've used had their bearings go bad after about 6 months of use.

1:53 this is my favorite product that you reviewed. I hope it was a fun event!
Thank you so much for the alt review of rack products etc.
Thanks Russ. I'm glad someone is reporting on useful products that regular people can make use of.
Did you see the little booth from a Japanese company called 5links? They had basically a much simpler and unobtrusive alternative to S&S couplers, thought it was very interesting. By the way, we were on the same flight back from Frankfurt 😅 Fellow Catalonia omnium rider here! (Love how cargo-heavy the event was!)
Thanks for puting the ALT into EU cyucling. :)
Good job covering the more practical side of cycling. I had seen that Abbey Tools chain checker already having seen it on another channel-I think it’s cool that you’re also covering their product.
That new Jack rack may solve my long struggle with losing the top of my drop bars when I mount up a bag. The foam spacers that many bags include get squished, let the bag shift around and yet still don’t leave enough room for my fingers to wrap around the bars. I’m hopeful the Jack or others let me regain my full bars!
@hendrixinfinity3992

Those foam spacers are awful, best to cut up a yoga block which is solid EVA foam and won't squish.
The best Eurobike 24 review I have seen. Thanks Russ.
That Kronfeld rack must really offset the balance of the bike though. If packed full or having two kids on it, the center of the weight could move beyond the rear wheel. Smallest bump would result in a wheelie.
@FfortheT

Right, probably you should pack up the front as well (as done in the booth bike)
@ztsb_koneko
11 күн бұрын
At that point you just have to start applying basic vehicle loading principles and never load the heavy stuff in the rear. Heavy load on the wheel axle and in the front, lightest load in the back and you'll be just fine... It's obviously intended for a hardcore bike packer who already used up all the other space on their rig and looking to expand. Not for joyriding with your kids lol
I like the Burley trailer😁
Excited to see Ortlieb release their version of the thru-axle and rack for it. Been eyeing using/hacking together Tailfin/robertaxleproject thru-axle with a quick-release rack and wasn't sure if attaching to thru-axle would fit 700c gravel bike but guess I'll just wait for the proper version. 🤩

That burley cart is awesome! Ride to the market, push cart around shopping hook it back on and your off. So smart!!
I've been looking for something like those clipclaps for ages!
The drop bar crane bell is the winner. I can’t tell you how often I’m white knuckling the hoods while flying down the trail and have to decide if it’s worth it to reach over to hit the bell to notify upcoming hikers or if it’s safer to just maintain my braking control and sneak through the gap.

Wow, nice coverage. This is the stuff that I'm curious about!
Watcher over you tubers of the Eurobike show, You would of thought it was all about carbon and racing . Glad to know it also has item the rest of us.
I could spend all day looking at German solutions to simple problems.
Cool finds! Hope someone comes out with a pizza rack that expands to actually carry a 16-18" pizza box.
All of us 40 somethings were jsut instantly triggered by those MKS bear trap pedals that were on the table. Thanks for the phantom shin pain lol.
Wow that chain-wear tool is awesome! I also like the strap-on cleats, I wouldn't use it for actual cycling but I have SPDs on my city bike and sometimes I want to ride it for things where I don't want to be stuck wearing my bike shoes. The 40kg rack I'm not too sure about, the reason racks are only rated for 25kg is that that's the limit for the mounting hardware and the eyelets on your frame. So sure the rack itself can be rated for any weight but as they say "a chain is only as strong as its weakest link". It also puts weight behind the rear wheel which is a recipe for speed-wobbles.
Russ, that mks pedals seems like replay from old fllding pedals they used to offer for dahon folders. I had a plastic one on my vitesse
Yay for the All-packa and the Omnium hinge! Great products both.
Woah, I was waiting for such axle from Ortlieb
Wondrous coverage... love your attention to more non-traditional cycling stuff (per usual).
Great coverage. Dig those strap-on clipless attachments.
Great discoveries. Thanks!
Great info, Thanks
Holy crap on that first extended rack. I wonder how it affects handling when fully loaded. Ha, that second rack is like the folding crates we used at work. You could easily jut attach it to rear rack for the same effect! I might try it. I am totally gonna make my own safety "lantern!" I am amazed at what they come up with that a simple, cheap, bunjee cord will work for just as well. L9ve the slip on cleats! I like the Jack rack but what keeps it from bouncing? That tiny front click fix rack is def something I would buy for my Bike Friday! Def gonna contact my friend here at Burley in Eugene about that wagon! Thanks, Russ and Laura! Great ideas over there. Now, where's my sewing machine to make a few of my own ideas I got from this?
Thank you!
Really cool products, hopefully some make it down to Australia 😊
Yeah for the Crane bell for drop bars 🎉
thanks for sharing!
Very nice innovative products. This video is better than the other Eurobike videos.
Nice video review, Russ!
The light were very cool love the mount idea 👌
1:13 i believe, this kind of measurement is good for very specific chains, as 8sp chains have a much bigger gap tolerance, than 11sp or 12sp. It's even told to clean the chain before measuring (not to let sand and dirty grease buildups get in the way, I can imagine) -- how does it compare to the initial slackness of 8sp chain, that can be twisted 1 full turn right from the box
I could use that Timba bag for my foldy. Where do I find one in the US? Thank you.

Best event coverage. I'm an "enduro bro" but that market is saturated with useless "innovation". Forget electronic shifting, inverted forks, and magnesium pedals. I'm loving the practical side of product design.
wow, thanks for showing us these innovations.
gimme that cadbury grips lol
That first extending rack is awesome
Very interesting, thoughtful and useful accessories! Thanks 🙂
Thanks for reviewing useful stuff instead of endless carbon bikes, carbon hubs and carbon spokes.
those clip claps are very cool, no need to own expensive bicycle only shoes either you just strap em on and roll, i need a review of them and ofc wishing they dont cost a fortune just because...
I like the look of those O straps from Ortlieb but can only find a bottle mount set in their website. Have they been released yet?
great coverage of practical bike tech!
Thanks for doing this
Those Eurodudes are clever!
Regarding chain checker, the stretch of the chain that regular chain checkers tests is important for the alignment of the cogs and longevity of the cassette and chainring. Does the flex of the chain really matter?
Sick video! My gf gifted me that very specific crane bell imported from the USA for Xmas 23. I must say it is a glorious bell
Will you test the stijn peg minivelo?
Will the extra rack except tern bicycle long panniers, it would make sense I stead of using two panniers each side
Nothing is AI that’s called that these days, drives me crazy! The break sensing rear lights were on the market for like 10 years… No AI, just an accelerometer. 🤫
Clip Clap looks kinda cool, I may have to try those out…
Nice video as usual. 'AI' and 'Machine Learning' on that taillight is complete bull. You just need an accelerometer. Auto brake lights have existed for at least 10 years. Might be a great product but the auto feature isn't worth more than an extra 10 bucks
The new ortlieb quick rack is super awesome !!!!!!! Unless it is crazy expensive I am getting one.
Any info on release date and price point for those o-straps with hooks? I see Voile has a similar product - rack strap, but 17 USD per strap is a bit much.
Lezyne saying that that rear light has AI is utter bs. Maybe they ran some algorithms to work out the protocol for the hardware to run on the bike. I hate AI being used as a buzzword. I will go out of my way to not buy stuff that says AI.
Ever seen the racks by Tailfin? They created racks like the one you mention from Ortlieb for a lon time already in Carbon and AL and with optional through axles also. Great and light.
