26 hours 29 Minutes Cannonball Car - 2017 Audi S8 Plus POV (Binaural Audio)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This Audi S8 Plus traveled from the Red Ball Garage in NYC to the Portofino Hotel & Marina in 26 hours 29 Minutes. While that might not be a new record, it did hold second place for a short time when it achieved 26:43, just 5 minutes behind the record of 26:38. With its 60 gallon fuel cell, night vision camera, and police avoidance systems, this car is designed to go fast for as long as you can stay awake.

110 mph is Indeed a pretty classic classic cruising speed on the Autobahn. At night or when the road is empty, it is easy to cruse at 160 mph if your car is powerful enough. However I drove once on an American roads and I won't feel safe driving that fast with drivers not keeping the right lane and not checking the mirrors...

@@UNNAM3D82 Averaging 110 by itself is mad. You’ve probably only averaged around 50 mph moving speed by yourself on a road trip. You have to take account for how fast you are going on the street which brings down your average. The guys who did cannonball averaged 103 mph over 24 hours and did 193 mph top speed. We don't really have highways in my country, so I cannot really have that good of an insight, but for me any my buddies a 191 km (119 mile) trip to where we study is 3 hours. That's an avarage of 63kmh (39.2 mph). To achieve this we basically do double the speed limit in cities and do 10-20% over the speed limit outside. Most people do 4 hours-4.5 hours on this distance, that's considered avarage by most of the population. (Around 26-30 miles per hour on avarage). Doing 110 miles per hour for over 2000 miles is straight up madness!

I drive on the Autobahn daily and people going faster than 300kph is extremely rare. Commuting to work at 300kph is even less likely because of traffic. That kind of speed can only be achieved on weekends in the early morning hours when the roads are empty. Also, while I am not in favor of a general speed limit on our German highways, going that fast is certainly not without risk and should only be done when road conditions allow for it.

Though it is impossible to fully prove he didn't achieve the time he claimed, the evidence he was providing fell far short of the usual proof provided with a claim. Several of the screenshots he provided as proof turned out to be heavily edited, even with a couple of the same screenshots containing differing information. In the end, though it would be an amazing time to set solo, it does not look like he actually achieved the claimed time.

How did we do this your saying by now...simple....mobile fueling... You save 1.5hrs... Remember., your not just loosing time while fueling, your looseing mileage... On average., you loose 23-35 miles per fueling.... Anyways., we are gona make this run next year in a 2019 decom police charger with all wheel drive and a ripp super charger and fully loaded police vehicle with lights and siren..... July 2021 is when we destroy the record👍 UPDATE: Charger Purchased 08/01/2020. Fuel cell purchased and installed 8/10/2020 Planning dry run in january

@@mrclean5789 They are way more fuel efficient than gasoline cars. Especially at high speed. Therefore here in europe, but especially here in germany, cars intended for use as a long distance car, almost always are diesels. My best guess as to why they aren't used that often (or at all?) in cannonballing would be do too both the lack of available high powered diesel cars in the us (even in Europe they've seldomly reached over 300 hp) and probably because of a worse availability of diesel over gasoline in the US in general. But I'm not to sure about that last statement.

Diesels aren’t readily available in the US like the are known Europe, S8’s are probably 4 to 1 in production. On top of that, they really don’t have the thrust or “sportiness” of the S8. Gotta remember, cannonball cars have to stop and handle as well.

Thanks! Technically yes it would impact efficiency but not by enough of a margin that would justify not making a fuel stop. Glad to see more locals seeing the content!
