Great video. I’m a 25 cal guy from way back. Shooting 25 creedmoor and 25 prc ( crown ridge) right now. Both on solus actions. Your video with Anthony turned me on to crown ridge. Just bench shooting and fclass short range with the creed. The prc is just for giggles. My creed likes the berger 135. The prc likes the eldm. 25 gt looks mighty interesting. Keep up the great content. I enjoy your content.

What powder and velocity are you running in 25 PRC….just got my barrel for my switch barrel and waiting on brass

25 cal is a great caliber, I also think it is the happy medium. Barrel support and reamers And bullets will always be the issue. 7 prcw, About the same type of thinking. Sounds good me brother sign me up.

Thanks for this video! I'm thinking the 25GT would be the ultimate high power silhouette cartridge. There are enough manufacturers of very high bc bullets 110 grains and up.

6ARC is still my top choice for 6mm. But that's just me. Hard tp find 105gr Hybrids

cool video! 25 gt has some consideration and the only thing holding it back was high BC bullet selection and I'm glad that's changing. what can and can brake are you running?

With the 115's or even the 133, it would be a great cartridge over the 6.5 grendel. Traditionally the 25cal is known for hunting and theirs a wide selection of 25 cal hunting projectiles. Might be a project to tackle

Love to try a 25 grendel/arc for high power silhouette. Is it better to neck up or down?

I’ve read in the the Precision rifle shooters blog that Austin Orgain uses a 25 GT 134 gr Hornady bullet over 37 gr H4340. Have you tried H4350 with this Cartridge? Looks pretty awesome with the Varget. Thank you for this video.

Yes. I prefer Varget for the recoil impulse. It's a sharp push over the H4350 load and a lot cleaner for running suppressed. Varget seems to push better wider velocities from 2770-2915 and the nodes are 5gr wide!

MDT is releasing a 4 ribbed 308 mag which helps mitigate nose diving. So far, controll round feed actions help pick up the round more reliable than push feed. The combination of push feed an AICS mags give tendencies to nose dive into the mag. The 25cal ELD bullets so far feed very reliable in this cartridge. I make my own reloading dies and mandrels.

What free bore you running on your past 6GT setup? What reamer/chamber setup you run on this 25GT?

I have both .120 and .170 alpha reamers in 6GT. This 25 is custom from JGS .140

Would be interested to see trajectory and wind data comparisons to 6 GT and 6.5 CM with best for cartridge projectiles. Would you say recoil is closer to 6 GT or 6.5 CM? Would a downloaded 6.5 CM perform the same with comparable bullets?

The 25 cal projectiles specifically 135gr Berger Hybrid and Hornady's 134gr ELD have a lot more BC value and will outperform 6.5 and 6mm at 2840 FPS. You can input the data yourself in ballistic solvers like Kestrel to compare for yourself. Recoil for this particular cartridge and powder charge is near that of the 6BR, slightly higher but not much

here because of Dayz

I had Anthony spin a barreled action for me. Im looking at LE Wilson 6gt full bushing die and use the 25 creed bushing for necking that I have, seeing that it would be bumping the necks up wondering what to do about expander ball. What set up are you using for dies to get to 25 gt

What length barrel?

I watched your 25 Creedmoor from about a year ago & this one. I am correct that with the 25GT giving up 5 grains of powder and less 50fps in velocity over the 25 Creedmoor? Is it just a faster powder in a better node than the Creedmoor? Very curious

Velocities is 20-40 fps lower but at 5 gr less and can use a sharper impulse powder like Varget. Cleaner and also seems to not heat up the barrel. This will increase barrel life substantially

No. Pressures signs show at 36.5. Shilen Barrels ratchet rifling seems to reduce pressures and unfortunately, other barrel manufacturers can't seem to bore a 25 cal barrel correctly and tend to be undersized. Proof is the worst company for a 25cal

I've found that bullet to perform very well with only Shilen ratchet rifling barrels. Many barrel manufacturers unfortunately undersized their bore diameter in the 25 cal. I too found that bullet to be extremely picky until I used it in a Shilen

I shoot 6gt and use a SAC modular die. What would be the process of resizing and seating using Alpha 6gt brass to size up to 25gt ?

25cal Mandrel that's all. Then seat the bullets. Don't recommend using SAC dies for 6GT in particular. Their have been many different chamber dimension changes and I found the 6GT SAC die to fit the worst

What are you using to resize and seat with ? So you just resize using a 6gt resizing bushing die then run them through a 25cal mandrel and seat in a 6gt seating die ?

I make my own dies and chamber match to the newest reamer revision. My suggestion is to measure you case web, mid and just below the shoulder area before and after you resize. If the resized case is over 0.0015 over fired dimensions, then either the chamber is cut sloppy, used a previous 6GT revision reamer or like I mentioned, SAC resizing die. IMO SAC dies are wanna be Whidden dies and are set to saami measurements if possible. Spend the small extra and just have whidden custom fit a sizing die for you As for the seating die, I use a Frankford arsenal universal die but the 6GT seating die works well. And yes, just run resized 6GT brass through a mandrel

How about 6xc. Has that fallen out of fashion?? But 25 cal definitely under utilised

I've built a few. Not seeing any benefits over 6BR or 6mm Creedmoor personally. To each your own I suppose. It's what ever caliber gets you out there practicing.

Walking the line between speed bc and recoil. I still think the 130gr smk in 7mm-08 is king.

Not for PRS unfortunately. 7mm08 has a lot more recoil and less BC. Great all around cartridge though
