My favorite decade was the 80's. That's when I was a teenager and had experienced my first taste of independence after buying my first car, a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500. The music of the 80's was a great influence on me. I joined the Army right after I graduated high school and went overseas. That was 1986. I spent most of the 90's in uniform. I got out in 1998. Pop culture of the 90's was hard to escape. I wasn't a fan of 90's pop culture and I certainly don't miss it, although there were some things about the 90's I did like. I had a laser disc player and was the envy of my Army buddies. I had one of the first bag phones and everyone in the barracks wanted to use it to call home. I made a lot of extra money on the side. Keep up the good work!

Princess Diana's funeral: I was working at the Olive Garden in Toronto, Canada the night before her funeral and when I had finished closing (kitchen staff so done around 2am as this was a busy Friday), I walked down from the restaurant to the Skydome (now called the Rogers Center). Her funeral was to be displayed on the giant JumboTron and even at 2:30am, there were some people already there even though I believe the live broadcast was not scheduled until 6am. By the time it was being aired live, the stadium was quite full. I had stayed to watch the service as I felt it was the very least to do to honor a person I never knew but only through the media.

My friend and I first saw a phalanx of helicopters, then we saw a veritable army of police cars, and then finally we saw the white Bronco. People were pulling onto the freeway in both directions, and parking, hopping out of their cars and waving signs that were very supportive of OJ. A friend and I were on our way to a concert, and although we had left in plenty of time to get dinner before the show, we ended up almost being late because traffic was so backed up.

You are. Lol. I grew up in the 80s. Everyone older and younger love the 80s.
Ah, the ‘90s! The decade of my 20s. Footloose and carefree, and growing into a adult. So glad I was raised before the internet and cell phones!
Of course, Mike has to mention his love of Disney 😊❤

The 90s is my childhood and teens. This video brings all the nostalgia. 😊
It was GREAT being a 90's kid growing up during this era.
Lived through 13 different Presidents, some good, some bad, some... evil. Watched as 3 astronauts died on the pad and 2-1/2 years later we walked on the moon. Cronkite broadcasting the daily body counts from Vietnam. Woodstock. Beatles (they aren't all that). Cuban missile crisis, both Kennedys & MLK's assassinations, My Lai, first Black man on the Supreme Court, Super Bowl 1, Roe v Wade, Billie Jean King, holy shit there's a lot over 65 years. 😶
Born in the 80s but I'm a 90s kid at heart. Most of my schooling occurred in that decade and i graduated high school in 2003.
I was subscribed to this channel a few years ago and am sooooo glad to see you're still here! Reunited and it feels so gooOOD!❤👍💯

I appreciate that
I remember every last one of them and some good list Mike 👍👍👍 shared to all I could
For me, one of the most iconic tragedies happened in the Baltic Sea when HMS Estonia sank, killing 852 of approx 989 people onboard (none knows for sure) and promoted a change in the law to always have an accurate list of how many people were onboard at any given moment. My fave teacher at the time almost went onboard but her husband got sick the night before and so they were saved.
Another great one... I appreciate you so much, Mr Estrin!*❤❤❤🎉
I graduated high school in 1996, it really was an amazing time to grow up. 💯
Excellent Mike. One of your best, and i have maybe warched to many but will watch to many more.

No such thing as "too many" List25 videos lol
As a thirty something working in offices, typewriters were giving way to computer screens. Still had paper files, but printed by a computer on a printer, not typed by hand....so much for the paperless office...still the case, not totally paperless. Still had to lug files around, on a trolley, even in 1997. 😁🤣
The Port Arthur Massacre that occurred on 28-4-1996, where 35 people were killed and another 23 wounded, was without doubt one of the most iconic events of the 1990s.
Born in 1991 Like.. wow crazy historical times we're living/lived in , even til this day! Monarchy change, pandemics, technological advances, Mars, electric cars..etc.the list goes on!
Ahh, the 90s. Born in 1990, lived through it all. What a decade.

I remember hearing about Princess Dianna my first day of my grade 12 year. I heard about her death when I was getting ready for school on the radio. We didn't have cable at that time because we just moved to Cold Lake AB from Winnipeg MB and didn't have anything set up yet. Everyone was talking about her demise at school that day. Going to a new school was already pretty awful so sadly Dianna's death is permanently etched in my memory.

Why did Princess Diana cross the road? Because she wasn't wearing her seatbelt....
*My hubby and I still have our Super Nintendo hooked up!* 😉 I’ve only played DK Country and Zelda- Link to the Past. And when my hubby found out I never played Mario, he bought it 😁
Just subscribed. Love this list. Really brought me back to my teenage years. Those were the days. I remember playing a lot of Mario Kart on SNES! I miss that game.

Nice video. This is nice info & recent history but I was in my 30's in the 90's so iy seems like yesterday.
Woodstock 94 and 99 were pretty iconic. I had a blast at the 94 festival. Not at 99 though. That was just ridiculous mayhem from start to finish. Go Sox. See your Lightning against my Bruins soon enough...
I mainly remember the good music and films plus two important tv-shows: The X-Files and the Simpsons :D
O. J. Simpson was a worldwide televised LOW speed chase.
The 1990s was my favorite decade. I would love to relive it. My sister sang in a rock band, and I made several new friends (I thought would last a lifetime). My mother lived up to and through most of 1999. I had a dog, a parrot and raised cockatiels. I had a job I could tolerate and comfortable living conditions.
90s were my late teens/early 20s. Good times. I miss those days.
i am sorry not sure why you disappeared from my youtube feeds, i thought the channel closed, this is the first video i watch since years, thanks youtube!

We were gone for a bit but we're back
Princess Diana's funeral: I was working at the Olive Garden in Toronto, Canada the night before her funeral and when I had finished closing (kitchen staff so done around 2am as this was a busy Friday), I walked down from the restaurant to the Skydome (now called the Rogers Center).
Oh Heavenly Dog!!!!! I loved that movie
First off, Wu-Tang clan 4life...thanks for your hard work, really enjoyed this one.
Mike looks like he's lost some weight. Good job man
I miss the 90s very much

I live in Norway, and we hosted the winter-olympics in 94. And I must mention the horrific Estonia-disaster, which also happened in 94. That was a passenger-ferry, who sank with 852 souls. Most of the passengers were from Estonia and Sweden.
Great video, I remember most! I didn't know about "Backrub" though, what a strange name for a search engine, who came up with that? Probably some dork with a really crusty sock, if you get my drift...
all of them as I am older than dirt. My physics professor was downgraded to teaching freshman physics because he was in charge of the Hubble mirrors. He said they sent him the wrong specs and when everyone verified that he ensured they were made to the specs he was sent, he was not at fault. And, I was one of those IT people ensuring the computers would be up and running 12:01 am Jan 1, 2000. Bad night even though the place I worked at the time was less than critical.
I was born in 1974, and I now get to be the old man in the neighborhood that can tell kids about how Disney (among other things) went for great to a train wreck and why... And when the 1993 WTC bombing wasn't headed.. it was a set up for the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. We should have learned then.
Well Back to the Future Part 3 came out in 1990 so you weren't entirely wrong
I joined my local volunteer fire department as a joiner member in 1999, as spent New Year's Eve at the station on Y2k watch. 😂😂😂
I just feel all the money I lost! Shout out to FUBU! 🤣🇺🇸🙏🏿
You mentioned that Kirk Cobain died in 1994 which was a tragedy to the music world. But also Justin Bieber was born in 1994. Which also was a major traded to the music world! 😂
The movie you referred to was "Fluke "
The movie was Fluke...just in you case you want to know.
Working for DQ in Durham, NC when this happened. Plus would be working there during DQ's 50th anniversary.
in 1991 I turned 13 years old...this whole decade is my teenage years.
@9:37 The reincarnated dog movie is "Fluke." The night Princess Diana died, I remember my Dad, Brother and I came back from watching "Dumb and Dumber" at a small, local theater and Mom was watching the heartbreaking news unfolding.
Weird coincidence here too. I'm a social worker and when studying we had "death" themed day. We visited police, morgue, hospital autopsy, funeral home, cemetary and crematorium. After the school day I went to my friend's place to talk about the day when my mom called. She said to open the TV. (Remember time zones, morning in America, afternoon in Europe. We opened the TV... The day was September 11. 2001.
I remember the Gulf war. I was getting ready to graduate high school in 1991
The actual BEST decade!

You did the 90s which is my high school and Junior High now you're doing the eighties which is my air I love the most I got my Nintendo my Super Nintendo do keep coming up with us I was so happy when you return bro I was born in nineteen seventy-nine celebrating my birthday on Monday when I turned 44

It happened at the end of 89 so not quite in the 90s but I remember watching the news and seeing the Berlin Wall come down and realising I was watching history in the making.

All my kids were born in the 1990s. I'm a gran now. This is a depressing thought...
Phil Hartman, Chris Farley, I'm 41 now and I can remember looking at the TV especially about Phil Hartman saying this had to be a joke
The movie you said you watched in your story time was called Fluke, because he was able to find the ball in the cups. A passerby called it a fluke, and the old lady running the game said "He's my little fluke, and that became his name.
I remember the 90's
Can you please do more of 25 90s
I'm a bit surprised that you didn't mention Pokemon. The franchise started in 1996.
Microsoft first released Windows 95 to the general public on my 30th birthday, August 24 1995.

Hey Mike That movie is called Fluke. One of my favorite movies. Just thought you should know
Could you imagine if Google was named back rub...."I don't know, just back rub it"..." Yeah, he was back rubbing inappropriate things"...."Whatever you do, don't back rub that" 🤣🤣🤣
Hubbles mirror was defective when launched. They serviced it in orbit to fix the problem
I was on the freeway going in the opposite direction as OJ Simpson's decidedly LOW speed chase.
The OJ chase definitely wasn't "High Speed" lol
Those computer programmers that prevented the Y2K catastrophe? They had to come out of retirement because they were the only ones who still knew BASIC, which was the foundation of all programs.
I was born in 1980…the 90s was the decade I remember…the number 17 event: the Waco seige happened on my 13th birthday and the Oklahoma bombing was on my 15th…😢
15:39 NAPSTER BAD 😂
somebody probably already said this but the movie was called Fluke
I think more than baggy jeans, tight rolled jeans and high tops are more relatable for me lol
26 JUN 1992 Jennette McCurdy is born.
