It's like when French billionaires donate to rebuild Notre Dame, and idiots got pissed off. They weren't pissed when the money was sitting in the rich people's bank accounts, but the second the rich people donated it to an actual good cause (saving a world heritage site is pretty important on a worldwide level) (a good cause is one that isn't with the intention of funnelling more money back to the donor to stock pile), suddenly idiots got pissed off that it wasn't donated to end world hunger despite the fact that those rich people actually really do a lot of philanthropy. It's like idiots would rather have that money sitting in bank accounts than spent circulating in the economy.

First off, thank you for getting a $2500 manicure. It sounds weird, but when youtubers do things like this, it is usually to prove how ridiculous it is, but it's also a "we did it so you don't have to" kind of thing. And you are not the kind of youtuber to do things for attention which I appreciate. Secondly, I think it's so cool how you paid for that manicure even though you're a popular youtuber and they wanted to give it you free. It's neat that you didn't want to use your status to get free crap (which lots of celebrities do like they believe they are owed it or some shit like that) so it just shows how genuine of a person you are. Thank you!!!

Getting a super expensive mani is exactly the sort of content I'd expect a youtuber like Cristine to do. Big KZreadrs do the things that the average person can't afford so you can see what it's all about and see that your own $25 manis are just as good (actually way better). It's no different to Jeffrey Star using a super expensive foundation just to see how good it is. I can't believe people gave her shade.

The $130,000 Models Own polish is the same polish as their cheaper one because it’s the lid that makes it so expensive as it’s made from white gold and diamonds. The nail polish itself is exactly the same and I don’t think it actually contains gold. So I think they may have had a real bottle and the lid just appeared silver because it was white gold.

It probably does have gold. I've purchased a top coat with real gold flakes and it was like $12. The one in this video doesn't look like it has a huge amount of gold, but probably like $100-200 worth. It's crazy what people will pay for this crap (obviously Cristine got it as a joke and has the funds to do this, plus she gets to write it off for her taxes).

Imagine I hand you a free plate of food. You don't pay for it but my money went into the ingredients and the labor is mine as well, I'm the one that ends up paying for your free plate. That's why they tell you to be suspicious of products that are obscenely cheap, as they usually cut corners either in the quality, or more often they pay the workers very little. For your cheap product, the worker's labor pays for it. That's why it's an admirable thing for her to pay even when the services were offered for free, like she said, it would have been assumed for her to speak kindly of the company, which would have essentially been paid for via advertisement. Nothing is really free.

Buzzfeed steal ideas and can't even defend themselves!" and if they do address it it's "Whoaa, no shit you did it first bc all the funds you have." Recognizing that we've come to the absolute death of creativity in general is a way better way of dealing with everything.

Technically, you only paid for how much you put on in the professional video, so if you calculated it, basically 2500 is 1.92 percent of 130000 (bottle price), as $0.48 is to 25, so there you have it a 48 cent manicure! (Here is a more mathematical form: if 1.92% of $130000 = $2500 then 1.92% of $25 = $0.48)

I just checked the website. They said the only difference between the regular gold rush shade and the special edition super expensive bottle is the packaging. Models Own regular polish is usually only around $2 Australian dollars. The idea was that salons would purchase one fancy bottle and then just buy cheap refills.

Y'all do realize that the $2500 wasn't JUST for the manicure, right? It's for the entire "spa" experience of being pampered, massaged, feed chocolate covered strawberries and champagne, as well as getting a foot bath, etc. Some people spend that much just getting massages and mud baths or whatever and just to spend a day at the spa with their rich gal pals. I live near a relatively affluent area and, though I'm dirt poor, I meet a lot of very well off women who married into money and do this sort of thing all the time. It's their way to pass the time.

Tabee Homman I never intended to imply I was "smarter" than anyone. I've just seen a lot of comments stating that "$2500 is way too much to spend on a manicure" (which is not wrong). I merely wanted to point out that it was for the whole spa experience and not just the nail polish. I used to live on the outskirts of a very wealthy city when I was a teenager (in a very poor neighborhood) and work in the city. I worked at a chain coffee shop for minimum wage just next to a spa and we had a lot of customers come in on their way in or out from the spa, as well as the employees from the spa who like to come in and rant about their customers while getting coffee. I apologize if my comment offended anyone.

I felt so empty when she said "what do you think?" And then no crack montage of it happened...

Your not the only one. The difference between the nail polish she used in this video and the nail polish she got at the salon is not that different. I think they might have got scammed... but who knows!?

From what i read, the price comes from the diamond encrusted cap more than the nail polish itself. But still, your nails look great and never hurts to pamper yourself from time to time.
