Ye at relise, i loved it, no one played it because i was at lower trophy range so people didnt max it out but card was so cool. It had bigger range, damage and barbarian was stronger i think was really sad when they nerfed it

That’s actually a mistake - supercell drafted a balance change where logs range would be reduced so it doesn’t hit towers, but it was unpopular so they never pushed it out.

Some old facts that I rmb 1)goblin barrel used to cost 4 elixir and deals low damage to the tower upon hitting 2)zap and princess used to counter a goblin barrel completely 3)the log cannot push back giants when it was first introduced 4)freeze didn’t have damage, but upgrading it increase its duration 5)the hog mountain used to be the legendary arena and it is reached in 3000 trophies + you can get legend trophies for the amount of trophies u have over 3000

Some that I remember -Prince was a rare -Game was release for certain countries in January but March for others so I had to use a vpn to get it. -Every clash royale player still had a father because Ebarbs didn’t exist yet. -Tv royale only showed top players -Landscape mode on replays

@@mqpar5.795 mb I remember grinding to get to arena 7 in 2016, but legendary probably would still be the highest arena, unlike the huge amount of arenas we have now

Funfact: Xbow shooting air troops would make it a worse win condition because it gives your opponent more troops to block the xbow with, yes I would have been a better defensive building, however it would almost never lock on if it could hit air.

Xbow had far better stats back then so it would very likely even out, also at the time the tankyiest air card at the time was either the balloon or the dragon, so it wouldnt be that hard to connect since supports exist

Clash 2016 was sooo good. I miss it terribly. Legendaries felt like, legendaries. Epics felt epic. No pass royale. And an epic was always guaranteed early game.

A few more: The PEKKA initially had a longer deploy time, just like the golem does now. It was removed. The goblin gang had 6 goblins-three melee, three spear-for 3 goddamn elixir. The log actually didn’t have knockback and is considered THE worst legendary. SC adding knockback instantly made it the best legendary spell ever. The electro wizard could be one-shotted by a same-level fireball at launch (like the ice wizard is now). Since even epic cards were so expensive in the earliest of CR, the PEKKA twin prince smash was seen as a deck of prestige and power. At launch, poison spell had a slowing effect, just like its COC counterpart, but is even better since it also affected buildings. This made poison-giant strats almost invincible. In the earliest of days, zap was a SINGLE-TARGET spell. The goblin barrel once costed 4 elixir, and dealt damage to its surroundings upon impact. This made it one of the worst spells in early CR. Speaking of which, goblins could once be killed with a same-level zap (the AOE spell which we know today, ofc). SC nerfed the damage of zap by 6% to create one of the most annoying metas of all time: knight-princess-gob barrel-rocket. From a player since 03/2016

​@@zucth8447 There's not really a good way to fix it. The hordes problem is that it dies to like every spell for a positive elixir trade, but you can't buff it without affecting regular minions. Logically a five elixir card shouldn't die to a 3 elixir spell (like witch and wizard survive arrows), but buffing their health would make regular minions super overpowered.

Who else remembers these 1) Witch used to spawn 3 skeletons in a line in front of her instead of 4 around her 2) Witch used to not deal area damage after one wave of balance chances 3) Executioner used to deal 400 damage per 4 hits on enemies after one update

I hate how when anyone mentions how there used to be 3 fire spirits, they never mention that each fire spirit was way weaker, and that it was one of the least used and worst cards in the game. The rework saved the card and made it overpowered until it got nerfed to make it the normal card it is today

I personally prefer the old ones. They were able to counter things like barbs and mini pekka. This coming from someone who had them in my main deck since 2016…

one thing you missed was that heal WAS super good at one point. it was used in 3m until it was nerfed into oblivion

And then was resurrected and saved by the heal spirit dealing a small amount of damage and healing a set amount to friendly troops

I mained sparky for years, people would never expect it and you can get an absolute death ball push with it as long as they didn’t have rocket or lightning

Some other things I remember 1) Bowler used to knock back every troop, even Tanks. 2) Heal used to cost 4 elixir and it healed like crazy (it could heal 50% of Giants HP back). 3) Spear Goblins back in the day couldn't oneshot Skeleton, however they had much higher attack speed. 4) Witch didn't have AoE attacks back in the day

You missed something, Arrows had one strike but more damage instead of 3 strikes

I remember when I first got the princess in the summer of 2016, I got so excited I literally yelled for hours and was happy for days, because I got her without spending money at all. Now? Legendaries are like commons.

I loved the old fire spirits they were by far my favorite card. To all the bitter people in the comments, I did not say the fire spirit are any worse or better than the fire spirits. You simply cannot take a minion horde out with it anymore, it does more damage to towers and costs less elixer. The only improvement was in top ladder usage, and I simply said I liked the previous fire spirits and now nerds who need to hug their parents and touch some grass are having a "skill issue" debate about a single card, I mean tf is your life by that point lol, it's just a game and you clearly don't enjoy it😂

I still remember getting my first legendary from a wooden chest, it was *the log* too I used it in every deck. Ahh good times

Let's just say the wooden chest was my legendary chest. That is where most my legendaries came from at the time

I got my ice wizard from a wooden chest at spell valley in 2016. Then 2 months later LH from crown chest. I went from builders workshop (1800 at the time) all the way to legendary arena with Lavaloon/double wizard.

I remember being absolutely tired after a day of school coming back home opening my free chests and getting my first legendary out of it, won't forget the free chest rip

Pretty sure they made the fire spirit 1 elixir to make it more similar to the other ones. Also, they increased it's damage and splash size, so it's pretty much the same as before

Its not the same. Its a huge buff for fire spirit. 3 fire spirits used to be one of the worst card in the game.

for the old playersrs,there also used to be a trend when we used to write a message to superscell frequesting for a legendary and after a bit most players used to get it as well.though it didnt happen to me,my friends did get legendaries bucuz of the request they made.I got my first legendary via magical chest ,it still feels like yesterday.the good old days man....😇

The 15k card chest was still around when I started. Could you imagine the joy of finally getting to open it again?

Despite not being able to see them, there are still chest stats for them for each areana with all the other chests. You can also still use them... but only once at the start of the game. I wonder why they still make wooden chests gradually better each areana if you can't get them past training camp. -sincerely Uel

I remember getting an ice wizard (one of the 2 legendaries at the time) and I was so happy that I need to tell everyone about that. Now when I get a legendary, a lot of times I feel disappointed that I didn't get the legendary I want.

The good old wooden chest... I got my first two or i guess first three legendarys out of them. It was my favourite chest. Also the Magical Cjest was my favourite, today i hate it.

Fun fact: One of the skeleton is named ledoot because its a reference to a skeleton blowing a trumpet, making a doot sound.

I miss my old ebarb rg deck back in like 2020/2019 whenever it was just after the big buff for ebarbs, my favorite most toxic deck I’ve ever made. And to comment on when you said night witch was the most op card I beg to differ, I think that goes to the very fast e barbs

Did the log not do crown damage 7 months ago? I stopped playing for about 3 years so I'm a little outta the loop, but when I left it did crown damage and when I came back it does crown damage.

I remember quite a few of these facts like the royal recruit one and the fire spirit one. I have been playing since mid 2016 and have seen the game progress so much, honestly i liked the game more back in 2018. After they made all of the rearanging of lower arenas and rearanging of cards the game became much worse (I got league 2 before they made rascal's hideout, serinity peak ...), I still like the game but it isn't as much fun as it used to be.

I always hated the magical chest because I was the only person in my group of friends who never got a legendary from one. Been playing consistently since 2016 and got my first legendary from a magical chest less than a month ago.

back then my friend created a unique and insanely powerful combo that no one had used before, which is the 3 fire spirit + hog rider in the front, this combo was used against a player on youtube and after that one video, this combo went viral and everyone started using it, but now no one is using this combo anymore and completely died out cuz of the fire spirit nerf proof that im also a veteran with my friend back then, the highest arena is arena 10 which is that temple looking map, but damn back in the day, the hype was actually getting legendary from the wooden basic chest, then at the end, u see a blinking rainbow coloured number, u know its ur time, either a princess of ice wizard gonna pop up, now, there aint any hype anymore in getting any cards in this game

I remember play cr and I was in arena 4. I just opened my free chest and I got a lava hound, it felt amazing. Some weeks later, i got another hound from free chest. It was incredible.

man, I miss the draft chests. they were fun to obtain and use. r.i.p. also, I did not even know that barb barrel and graveyard are changed because I never use them.

I remember the feeling when the penultimate card was an epic card, I kept crossing my fingers for a legendary to come in the last one, haha

I was used to 3 fire spirit back then and quit the game for some moment. But when i come back, they changed it to 1 i was pretty upset lol

3 fire spirit heal spell mother witch things aren't that old thing, like 2 years ago I think. but I think you are mistaken about sparky, sparky used to be OP when launched, when it used to one shot other sparky, but then sparky got damage nerf and then became useless. But I didn't know about Golem neckband, (I started in late 2017). or xbox hitting air (although heard about it)

As an OG player, the phoenix at launch was far stronger than the nightwitch, at least with that you could fireball+log it. If you had 4 phoenixes down, you won.

Sparky was a great card if you knew how to use it. Felt like I was the only one playing Giant sparky and dominated always. It was my first legendary and i was happy about it. People who called her bad were just bad with her :)
