That is normal and typical. Many kids don't see their parents as someone to idolized because it just their mom or dad and they get accustomed to them from being with them everyday. They would rather idolize someone who they have never seen or rarely seen. They will often just take their parents for granted cause it is an everyday thing that is not out of the ordinary. Messi or an another celebrity well that is not an everyday thing. This is normal for everybody adults too not just kids.
