Not really. Michael has been internationally famous ever since he was a child and after Thriller which was released in December of '82, he became the most famous person in the world. Diana's level of fame was nowhere around his level of fame. Diana could go out and shop in London or rollerblade in Kensington Park. She would be photographed by the paparazzi but her presence wouldn't cause large crowds to gather.
