I think we need a lookback to the basics? Why do we read or for that matter grow ourselves by any ways? The growing list if approached this way becomes a burden and hence a checklist to finish off and instead should be something you can hold on to for life. I had his shift in perspective lately. I hope you are having a good day. Cheers!

@@wian7284 What do you mean by saying this ??
@wian7284
3 жыл бұрын
@@theamadeo2454 Having a todo list surely helps out in prioritizing, helping you choose things, but it can quickly spiral into being a rabbit hole for checking off things, being a burden as it grows and also we run the risk of loosing the essence itself of experiencing it fully. Reading a book, watching a movie, visiting a place,.. any such experience should actually be value adding for one's life as they personally found it interesting in the first place. Hence the list as counter-intuitive as it may sound can become cause of burnout and make you possibly pace through it in order to just catch up with rest of the things. I hope it made any sense and helped you in some way. Cheers!

Exactly my feeling, I wish there was nothing in our lives to do but read...
Amazing video, I loved how both of you touched the depths of each book you discussed today.. the reflection of your feelings while reading each one was just the best thing. I guess the way Vaani framed the questions also was remarkable! It is always wonderful watching Dhruv talking and reflecting at the same time...! Waiting for more from the duo. Thanks for all the recommendations. Only request, Vaani - could you also share the link to the podcast on Pencils with us?
This conversation is so personal. I like how Dhruv never treats interviews as formal one's, he is always so at ease. Loved this one.
This was such a beautiful interview. Vaani you did a tremendous job. I really enjoyed it. Em and The Big Hoom is one of my favourite books too. As an aspiring writer I always look up to Dhruv and his work. Thank you for this Chalchitra Talks
I think these were the most beautiful 39:19 minutes of my life...loved every second of it...gonna keep coming back to the video making sure that i don't miss any single book recommended by Dhruv...
Absolutely loved this conversation. Dhruv the way you have portrayed the feeling of seeing your parents greeting old in Little things S3 is I think the best anyone has ever done. Completely in love with your art man❤️
What a beautiful conversation. Loved every bit of it!
Such a nice episode of book recommendations - watching Chalchitra talks for the first time. I’ve subscribed :) looking forward to more of these from this channel. Vaani’s voice is so calming :) Thanks to Dhruv for the recommendations - looking forward to reading📖📚
I have gotten so many book recommendations from this interview. Thanks a lot for bringing Dhruv, this video has been an absolute treat to watch because of the passion with which he speaks about each and every book. Just amazing! Thanks!
Vinod kumar Shukla' book _Deewar mein ek khidhki rahti thi_ is published by _Vaani Prakashan_
I love how he's got so many titles wrong but he just keeps going because it truly doesn't matter. Vinod Kumar Shukla's "A window lived in the wall" has now just permanently become "There lived a window in the wall" for me, which I actually believe is an even lovelier title. Nice conversation, man. Agli baar translated works ki baatein bhi karna- a great way to learn about voices and stories you could and would otherwise never hear.
Great Episode! Loved the recommendations and the warm conversation : )
I never comment on youtube videos but this. Wow. It is a warm feeling, like a hug on a nice summer afternoon in the initial stage of summer break, it touches upon a lot of topics which make you feel warm.

Lesson Learnt: The refined taste of books reflects in one's personality.
Chetan Bhagat is in a list which has great writers like Zadie Smith in it?
Indeed catcher in the rye is interesting but the journey of jd Salinger to make this happen is even more interesting

Hi ! I want to share with you about one book: "KAYAN KOLLYN- The spiral of the Ellmott & messenger of the secret." a great fiction of adventure, mystery, ART, an ancient CRAFFARTT, and science. once you read it, you definitely love it, because it speaks about all dimensions of life, without the barrier of the beliefs and social divisions.
