24hrs In The Mind Of Mark Holmes | Carp Rigs, Bait, Tips, Edges and Tactics and more | Carp Fishing
Mark Holmes, one of carp fishing's great thinkers, invited us to spend 24hrs with him on one of his syndicate waters where he's in pursuit of yet another UK 50lber. During our time with Mark, we covered a wide range of subjects, from bait and rigs to location and carp tips and edges.

    What a wonderful insight, well done Mark, thinking outside the box rather than becoming a carp fishing robot following the latest trend. We need more down to earth characters in fishing like yourself.

    Interesting bit about sand and liquids..... remember nick Helier doing an article in the early days of pva sticks using this on linear ... creates shining spots of attraction but little food attraction..... cherry on the cake 👍

    Good vid been messing around with liquids for years now this time of year I like to mix molasses with liquid kelp active csl, small amount of cod liver oil garlic powder and fenugreek plus some demerara sugar mixed up and left in sealed bucket and kept in warm temps like in the house..that goes straight in to a pva bag with a couple of small stones to help it sink can be spombed out or catapulted ...plus gently heating this liquid on the bank can really help👍

    Can you use turmeric on your boilies in winter to help you get edge ?

  • @philipglancy8593

    @philipglancy8593

    3 жыл бұрын

    Give it go and find out buddy... In the winter I riddle my maggots and add turmeric to them, repeat the process a few times adding fresh turmeric each time so the maggots take on the flavour, instead of the ammonia smell they usually give off.

    Isn't this the new bait that shimano tested/developed, followed by a launch day on linear b2, with a load of trade and shop owners - they all blanked til someone used a northern special.... seems mad to leave an established bait company like dna to go to shimano for a bait that may not take off, it's a crowded competitive sector to say the very least.

    Not sold on this to be honest, fishing is and should be very simple, find them put a good bait well presented is all you need, this guy confuses every subject , I've been fishing 25 years and wouldn't dream of going to the extents he does, it's simply over kill, the best skill you can develop is watching carp and let them tell you what bait they prefer, start with corn, pellets. keep it simple
