It's amazing to see someone be so excited about ob/gyn. I didn't enjoy that rotation and almost passed out when I saw a vaginal birth lol. But your passion is so intense, it almost made me miss those days. When you find your passion something just clicks. Happened to me with plastic surgery

I’m a nursing student and coming to the end of my program. Sooooo, I am feeling the same way with my licensing exam 😂 I just remind myself to take it day by day and not think TOO far ahead. I’m glad I’m not the only one feeling this right now ❤️

As first year med student that’s very interested in ob/gyn, I’m really living for these videos! They make me so happy :) Question for you!! I’ve heard a lot of negativity regarding the rough hours and work/life balance of this specialty. I haven’t shadowed an ob/gyn, so I don’t have any first hand experience, but what’s been your opinion on that thus far? Have you noticed this stereotype is true, and if so, has that influenced your decision?

I highly recommend you check out Mama Doctor Jones. She’s an OB/GYN and a mom and she talks about how she manages the work like balance in the specialty she loves.

@@charlleedodson I actually do watch her!! I just feel like at times part-time physicians have a sort of “best-case scenario” life style and aren’t super representative of the average ob/gyn when it comes to typical hours/days/call shifts. But yes omg she’s absolutely great :)

​@@odetterosales6911 applying ob/gyn in the match this year, and while this specialty gets a wrap for being malignant, but it depends on the ennvironment, so you just have to be extra careful in picking a residency/fellowship/job placement. As far as the hours, it sucks. We have the worst call and honestly that's why if you dont absolutely love the specialty it's extra rough. But with all that being said... its the best specialty hands down!! :)

I’ve been out Rachel for about 3 months. Illness. Let me say ur Soyulent drink saved my life. At this point in ur education ur routine is chaotic as compared to before. It’s not that u r losing info ur just taking it in in a different way. Practical info really shines when ur physically doing something. Don’t panic. Ur brain and body will adjust and u will find ur absorptive rate for info is back on top. Keep marching on ur almost at the finish line. So glad ur choosing OBGYN. Don’t be suprised if ur residency brings u right back to where u r now.

I have loved watching you grow into your calling in life. This is beyond exciting and I’m so happy you’re bringing us along. I hope time passes fast so you can get back to your true love, OB-GYN. 💜
