They are being told they won a prize or to "contact me" etc... I've mentioned it several times in videos and here in the pinned comment, but the scam bots are out of control and I don't want you guys to get taken advantage of. I try and delete/block as many of these accounts as I can, but for every one I delete, another pops up. HERE'S WHERE I NEEED YOUR HELP: If you're scrolling through the comment section and see a scam bot reply, just take a second to respond to the thread and let the original commenter know that it's a scam bot. I want to keep the comment section active, as it's where we can interact with each other and I love it! That being said, people are falling for the scammers, so we need to help each other out as a community. This here is the ONLY ACCOUNT NAME (with verified checkmark) I use on KZread. ANYTHING else (even with my profile picture) is a scam bot. I can only catch so many of them, so let's all look out for each other :) Love you guys!!!

Many of these bots are auto generated and can be very hard to distinguish between legit “watchers” and post that are normally irrelevant to the content of the video. Hopefully as you have asked your followers they will be able to send you notifications from fake accounts or bots. I have just recently found your channel and started watching your videos. They are very entertaining and have good content. Your very lucky to have a great place live now and to film some of your adventures. Looking forward to more on the way! Set up some game cams around your ranch and you will get some interesting videos I bet.

You probably won’t see this, but I live in Washington too. You’re the one who inspired me to do my first solo overnight backpacking trip to an alpine lake last summer. It was surreal how peaceful it was, I had the lake all to myself. I hiked to 3 alpine lakes last summer, this year I’m aiming for 5-10. Can’t wait to see your overnight backpacking trips to those high alpine lakes!

But I really look up to you man I’m only 19 and I fish a lot but I’m isolated to a small town. One day my dream is to do exactly what you do, I wanna live off the land and forage the alpine mountains like I’ve seen you do in all your videos. I recently was home sick with Covid and I had just started watching your vids. I found you thru Outdoor Chef Life. I binge watched your entire collection while I was home sick and it helped me keep my sanity while isolated. Now I am waiting patiently between your vids. I have watched a number of people doing similar content and you my friend are by far the best. You keep it simple so we can all relate to whatever you are doing. Your videography is so good, and the tension, the suspense in your videos... I couldn't stop watching this one, and in the end, I nearly screamed along with you. The underwater footage is frustrating, though, because I can see all the big beauties not biting, and I'm like, "Argh!" every time they just swim away. Hey Lief, don't forget to try and ice fish with the Fish's Eye. Makes great bait when jigging. Probably because of the saline (salt content).

I have a huge recommendation for you, what i do with the worms is i use a tri hook and Wrap the worm all around it so you have a higher chance of not loosing the worm. Hope you try it out!!!

✋️ I just happened upon your channel and was inspired to head back out after being diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease. I've been out Salmon/Steelhead fishing with my brother on the Lewis River and Kokanee at Merwin where I also may have hooked into and lost a Muskie. Anyways thank you for inspiring me to get out and do what I've loved for over fifty years!

When your auger's spiral part is not so long it helps a lot to do that what you did once. Clear out the ice/slush once or maybe twice and continue. Short spiral is not able to transfer that heavy ice outside and it gets really hard to drill. I almost had to break my plastic spiral few times before I really learned to do it every time when ice gets way over foot deep. Loving your work. -Ice fisher from Finland.

You had a great ice fishing bait with you a few times during this adventure. It will catch trout and most any other fish in the lake. Perch eyes make an amazing ice fishing bait and usually last a very long time because they are hard to pull off the hook. Best tool to get them out of the perch intact is to use the larger loop in a regular size paperclip. It will scoop the eye out intact as well as the optic nerve that almost works like a little jig tail. Tight lines Leif, enjoy the ice while we still have it here in Washington.

Great video. Three things that you can consider for next time. 1. I would wear eye protection any time I would work around those rod/mouse traps. 2. Maybe use a small bell for your rods once they are loaded on the traps. So you can hear better. 3. You can make some really good tea out of pine needles… it has a ton of vitamin C.. And 4 keep them episodes coming brotta!!!!!
