245 Hp Talbot Sunbeam Lotus Gr.4 + Renzo Bernardoni OnBoard - Formula Driver Mariana Mantovana 2019

This is a rare Talbot Sunbeam Lotus Gr.4 prepared for the slalom races and here in action during the 2019 Formula Driver at Mariana Mantovana driven by Renzo Bernardoni. The car has a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder engine that develops 245 hp at 7.000 rpm with a torque of 250 Nm at 6.000 rpm. The car adopts a ZF 5-speed gearbox with close ratios, rear-wheel drive and a weight of around 1,000 kg. I have to thank Mr Bernardoni for allow us to install an onboard action-cam and filming his aggressive and spectacular driving style.

Questa è una rara Talbot Sunbeam Lotus Gr.4 preparata per le gare di formula driver e slalom e portata in gara dall'ottimo pilota Renzo Bernardoni. L'auto ha un motore 4 cilindri da 2.2 litri che sviluppa 245cv a 7.000 giri/min con una coppia di 250Nm a 6.000 giri/min. Adotta un cambio ZF con 5 rapporti ravvicinati, trazione posteriore e peso di circa 1.000 Kg. Ringrazio molto il Sig. Bernardoni per aversi permesso di installare una action-cam a bordo della vettura filmando il suo stile di guida aggressivo e spettacolare.

There were many special/rare cars during that Formula Driver event. I believe that I have seen this car maybe once in a rally.

Hahaha, luckily, Italians love cars, and for one day a year, all this is borne by the local population. Competitions like these attract over a hundred people who move the local economy, restaurants and hotel nights....
This car looks like an 80s Dodge Omni, any association to Chrysler? They had a 2.2l engine that was surprisingly strong for a econobox. Cosworth could easily gotten that kind of power out of it I think. Edit: that sounds absolutely awesome!

ThisTalbot Sunbeam Lotus is a sporty version of the Chrysler Sunbeam, I think they are more or less the same model, Chrysler took this project which was initially developed for European cars

@@Italiansupercarvideo The Dodge Omni in the US had a catalytic converter that ran so hot after a few years you could poke your finger through the floorboard above it! Not many left in the US. They were quick for what they were.

@@upsidedowndog1256 Also in Europe only a few Talbot cars have remained and I confirm that they were fantastic because they had rear wheel drive and with that engine, they were powerful and fun. Now, these racing versions cost a lot of money

The Dodge omni was front wheel drive and based on the Chrysler horizon. The sunbeam was based on an rear wheel drived avenger. They can't be compared at all. The sunbeam is a much better and fun car to drive.

@@Rasmus661 I haven't seen a Chrysler car of any kind from the 80s running in about 20 years. So comparisons would be difficult anyway!😀
lo pneumatico tocca più volte la carrozzeria, potresti essere un po 'troppo basso o troppo morbido (sospensione anteriore) Ho anche guardato il tuo video della salita in salita (a volte la ruota posteriore non tocca più terra..pompando tra la parte anteriore e quella posteriore) è solo l'opinione di uno spettatore (il meno era standard) come ho detto una volta "Crazy Italians"
