    Dudley a hint to help you on TIG welding heavy sections of alum. like that...pre-heat the weld joint to 250-350 deg F with a propane torch...your welds will just wet in nicely with way less amps to get a weld puddle. You did a great job for limited TIG exp.!

    Instead of lising the tram on the mill, you could use a sine plate or angle blocks on the vise.....

    Pretty cool. Sounds good too. I wonder if replacing the aluminum triangle with say a piece of Delrin or something light would enable the wind to move it more easily and it would chime in a very light breeze?
