I am surprised you guys did not attempt contact with his children to allow them to know how fondly their father was remembered by someone that didn’t even know him that long. Our lives are about our legacy and what we leave behind. It seems as if he left good energy with this family. On the flip side I can see partially why you did not, in the unfortunate event that this man had been married when he had a “friendship” with her mom could also ruin part of his legacy.

I agree with most of what you say, 👍 but I did reach out to many members of the family without success of a reply. I believe I did a good job in paying my respects to Lt Edmundo Ritarita, we both served in the 1st gulf war (without knowing him ofcourse) he was divorced when he knew Mariannes mother and I have also struggled with this though, what IF someone was doing something on the side (not applicable in this story) well all I can say is when you do wrong somehow it will come back and bite you on the bum and I can't pussyfoot around just because someone may or may not have done something naughty, I got people to find for their children, until we find them we don't know if they like it or not.. but you won't know til you try! 🙂

My Filipino Father applied at Subic for the US Navy during the '60s. he failed the Physical. He went on to finish his Civil Engineering Major at Baguio College. We migrated in the '90s. RIP to this officer.

Our confolences ate marriane. Atleast you know now. You are lucky to have met him, a man who have a big big heart.

He apparently did not want to find them if he did he would have gotten in contact with her mother's family and friends.
