23-Year-Old Nanny Charged in Mysterious Double Murder Stabbing and Shooting

Ойын-сауық

Months after 39-year-old Joseph Ryan was found murdered, 23-year-old nanny Juliana Peres Magalhaes is charged in his death. On February 24, Ryan was found shot and killed in a Fairfax County, Virginia home. Also inside, was the body of 37-year-old Christine Banfield, who was found stabbed to death. Initially, Banfield’s husband called 911 and claimed responsibility, but investigators now say Peres Magalhaes pulled the trigger. The Law&Crime Network’s Sierra Gillespie breaks down the case with former FBI agent Tracy Walder, who explains why there have yet to be charges in Banfield's death.

Good lord. I worked as a nanny for years. I always told the parents: whether you hire me or not, PUT IN NANNY CAMS. Period. You should have nanny cams and your nanny should be the biggest proponent of them. If you wouldn’t want it captured by hidden nanny cams, you shouldn’t be doing it. I’d you’d never do it in the first place, you’ll ASK for nanny cams.

I'd want nanny cams to protect me, as someone who's not a creep, and wouldn't like to be accused if someone lost something, or if a kid fell or something (it does happen) I'd hate to be accused of something that wasn't my fault, or that I didn't do. Idk why anyone wouldn't want nanny cams. I'd require them to watch someone's kid. 😂

The guy was set up to take the fall and something went wrong. If you can’t stay home with your child, and your parents or family can’t watch them, then find a well respected and researched daycare. Maybe then you’ll find out your husband is a POS some other way and get a divorce instead of lose your life. Terribly sad. In the end this child will have lost both parents.

I could understand if you had a CIA agent on to talk about the body language of a suspect during an interrogation as CIA agents learn how to read body language but in this case it doesn't apply. They should have used any of the million former homicide detectives on here to speculate about what they think and it would have been more credible.

I hate when they ask why he layered up. Why wouldn't anybody lawyer up in any situation. The media is seriously the evil villain on our planet. They made it sound like getting a lawyer is an admission of guilt or something. Police will be your friend but the will also pretend. I hate seeing anyone who just wanted to do the right thing but instead get tricked into a prison sentence. Not all law enforcement is bad but its rare they will defend you in a court of law.
