Exactly what I came here to comment on. My only question for Andrew is if he prefers to finish with the left hand choke or if people are just more susecptible to the arm trap/choke from that side.

  • @violentpanda2

it's like any other move I guess, I'm sure when you're on someone's back you tend to have a hand that becomes the underhook and one that attacks the neck from seatbelt. the underhook naturally tends to be the arm on the ground stopping them getting their back to the ground and controlling their hand. the other hand is the closest to the neck so it tends to go straight to it. to use the underhook to attack the neck you would be giving them an escape by creating space.

@@Andrewcharipar if you want to heel drag and trap that arm, you need the choke side arm to be up towards the ceiling. If the underhook side is up, you can’t really do the same thing.

i love your style. the impressive thing about andrew is that he doesn't train at a gym with the world's top competitors, even though daisy fresh peeps are still dangerous and in the next few years will be probably be dominating the mat, but is still able to tap top competitor's out. it's all about how you train i guess haha. would love to see andrew and marcelo garcia roll... on a side note, anyone else like seeing the different layouts of bjj gyms? this one had an interesting vibe to it, kitchen and shit lol

Bruh, I'm pretty sure there's several world and pan champs at various belts and weights in that room without visitors. There's not an easy roll in the room. I grew up wrestling, wrestled on the same team as Heath. He showed us BJJ waaaayyyyy back like 21 or 22 years ago. I can go in most gyms and toss people around and do what I want. Last time I went there before I moved away I threw up in the parking lot lmfao. Heath's a Rodrigo Vaghi black belt which if you read about you'll find is a pretty hard thing to do, considering Vaghi was an instructor at Rickson's school in Rio. I highly encourage you pop in there if you ever make it to Illinois. You won't leave there saying there's no world class competition lol

@@KKSuited meant no direspect bud, we all know that pedigo is full of beasts. but it's kind of obvious that andrew is on a separate level in how he just mows through everyone there. he's the top representative to the pedigo style with his wrestling + bjj. just think it would be cool if the pedigo gym got an invite to train with some of the big gyms/groups where some of the people that train there are the top athletes in the game.

@@quickstep2408 @quickstep didn't really mean it like that. Heath is cool af. Andrew is the leader of the pack but he is also an OG with Heath. Jacob Couch submitted Dopp, who was a silver medalist at ADCC. He just got his brown belt 😳. That one gym beat all of the big conglomerates at Pans. They have a gym full of world and pans chanps and medalists, and when you have that many white and blue belts that finish high, the odds are they will do well at purple and brown when the time comes as well. Keep your eyes on them. That gym is taking over 😆
