#222

Today's guest is Hal Elrod, who I interviewed in Austin, Texas. Meeting someone like Hal leads me to sick back in immense gratitude that I get to do this podcast and meet people like him. (Thanks to Brandon Fong, who interviewed me on 7-Figure Millenials, for introducing us.)
First and foremost, Hal Elrod is a family man. He is a loyal husband to his wife of 13 years, and a dedicated father to their two children. His mission in life is to fulfill his potential while inspiring those he loves, and those he leads, to do the same. When he’s not with his family, he is sharing his message as an author and keynote speaker. After surviving multiple near-death experiences and impacting millions of people through his books and speeches, Hal is also on a mission to elevate the consciousness of humanity, one morning at a time.
As the author of 12 books, most notably, The Miracle Morning - which is translated into 37 languages and has sold over 2.5 million copies-he is doing exactly that. His latest project is The Miracle Morning Movie - a documentary that shows how millions of people are transforming their lives, by simply changing how they start their day.
In this episode, Hal is going to show you how you can do the same and so much more.
Listen as we discuss:
- Why Hal's bio starts with "I'm a family man, first and foremost."
- The effects of his first near-death experience.
- The 5 Minute Rule, the most valuable strategy he ever learned.
- All emotional pain is created by resisting reality, so accept life before it happens.
- If battling cancer, don't put your health only in the hands of a doctor.
- Unwavering faith that you will heal can lead to miracles.
- The line between "can't change" and "can change".
- How the 2008 crisis led to the Miracle Morning.
- Does he ever have off mornings? Yes, this morning.
- SAVERS: Silence, Affirmations, Visualization, Exercise, Reading, Scribing
- The Miracle Equation = unwavering faith + extraordinary effort until it happens
- Hal's secret to happiness? Choose it unconditionally and selflessly add value.

Accepting life as it is is referred to as al-qadar, your events in life are preordained how you react is what counts, merely tests and those that are tested the most are the best in creation.

good job and attitude guys. Nothing on earth has the power to effect our thoughts unless we allow that. Our mind is so powerful to an extend that is difficult to comprehend, in bad or good. Our attitude toward the happenings is the only weapon we have in our powerful arsenal, the Buddhist life style is the source to all the answers for a better life.

Some good points but honestly I see and hear a wealthy white male talking about all the money and resources he had to effectively deal with these tragedies. Good for him but who I’d really love to hear from to make his points truly plausible is someone who is poor, on Medicaid (which means the doctors they have access to are overworked, less knowledgeable and empathetic, no time to talk), living in an unsafe neighborhood/ housing, with very few if any natural supports. These are great mindsets when you actually have the resources to do something about your situation. Resources (which also provide opportunities) play a much bigger picture in this guys ability to overcome then anyone is talking about. We cannot isolate mindsets away from resources.
