Jim, I pray that your surgery is successful and that you heal quickly. I hope Angie has someone to sit with her while your in surgery. I know when my husband was having his heart valve replacement surgery I had my mother in law with me, and it helped to pass the time.

Hi Jim and Angie. There are certain color clothes mosquitoes don’t like. They love dark colors like navy blue and black. They don’t like purple , or some light colors. They don’t like pink or lime green, white or light blue. At least that’s what they say online. Lemongrass oil repels mosquitoes.

I will definitely keep you updated. I’m trusting God for supernatural healing because I live alone and have no one to help me during the recovery and with God there are no recovery issues. He’s healed me of other things supernaturally so I know He can and will heal me of this.

Your fans and all your little fur babies are going to miss you when you are in the hospital for three weeks. You won’t have to worry about them cause Angie will be looking after them. You and Angie are amazing. I love watching you two feeding the beautiful little racoons. I was surprised to hear that Angie doesn’t like spiders. I don’t mind spiders. They are good to have around cause they eat mosquitoes and other bugs. I’ve loved spiders ever since I watched the movie Charlottes Web years ago. I don’t know for your specific Dyna trap which one you got, but please read the instructions. Usually they should be placed 20 to 40 feet away from people. We have Dyna trap and love it. Hopefully it’ll work out for you.

The DynaTrap says place traps 3-6 feet above the ground and 20-40 feet away from people. I think you should put it away from you and not in a well lit area so insects are attracted to the UV light.

My husband had two big surgeries within 8 months. Both of them @ least 6 hrs. If they can get an epidural in , that is the way to go. You will still have a general anesthetic. The epidural will be used for pain management post op. Works really well. You said you are going to the vg site so be aware that there are no showers there. Because the place is so old they have the showers closed off. It is because the pipes are so old there is stuff in them that they do not want people breathing in while showering. Therefore , no showers at all. My husband was there for three months the first operation with only a bed bath. Also if you need help at home, the dr put a requisition in to the von. Mainly I looked after my husband myself but he had a pressure sore and they looked after that. I have not had a lot of experience with colostomy but they have come along way from what they use to be. I think better supplies etc so that they adhere so much better than years ago. Also I think they will let you know about certain things not to eat. Yes, early hours to arrive at the hospital. Do not get there any earlier as the doors are locked. Good luck Jim. Thank goodness you have Angie to help you.

I try to watch your videos every night. I had back surgery a few weeks ago. Look into getting a shower chair for after your surgery. They are a life saver. Well wishes for your surgery. You will do great!

If it's a Dynayrap you hot, you have to pit it away from you, abot 10-20 feet away from your porch and 3-6 ft off ground. Right now, they are attracted to the Dynatrap, and they have to pass by you 2 to get to it. So they have a snack on you 2 before they get fried! Put it on a shepherd hook about 10 feet in front of the deck down below. I have one, and my deck is high like yours. I don't get any bites when I'm outside.

Angie, LOL, I need a family tree to keep all the families straight on which baby belongs to which mama 😊

Hi Angie & Jim from NC! I saw that you just got a dynatrap for the mosquitos. I had one a few years ago and unless they've changed the technology, you're supposed to set it up a certain distance away from the area you want to protect. It attracts the mosquitos, so you want to attract them away from you. Hope this helps..I'm sure there's literature that came with the unit that explains everything. If you have it on the deck with you, you will be attracting them to you!

Also, I had a suggestion! Have you ever thought about getting a small deep freezer for hotdogs? I'm sure Angie will have her hands full with taking over all the duties while Jim is recovering from surgery. Maybe it would help to be able to buy them in bulk & freeze a good supply for backup!

I have had my Dyna Trap probably over 10 years….I have it next to my patio room…It protects me while I’m working out in my flowers…A lot of folks folks don’t know you leave the unit on 24/7…..They have really changed the look of the unit since I bought mine….They seem a lot bigger…But it protects me..both sets of neighbors surrounding me…

Love seeing Angie and the raccoons, but always miss seeing Jim. Please know that both Jim and Angie are in my prayers as Jim approaches the much needed surgery. The world needs people like him, a real treasure.

DYNAtrap: If is recommended to place the DynaTrap 20 feet away from you...we use one here in Salt Lake City, UT....It lures them in and traps them with air....no noise....surprising how many insects can collect...I empty it near the bird feeder as the birds think the dead bugs are a tasty snack....you can buy a metal stand to place it in the yard, just might need to run an extension cord....

Yes, the bugs need to be attracted to the UV light. They are also using it in a well lit area so insects are not attracted to the UV light.
