Bei Bei will be 2 years old on August 22. I wish him well tomorrow and always. I am sure he will enjoy his big ice cake on his birthday, but what he really needs is love from his mom Mei Xiang and his keepers. He would really enjoy communicating with his dad Tian through the howdy window, too. Please SNZ, show compassion for your beautiful animal friends and treat them as your family.

I have difficulty watching the SNZ videos now, cute as they are. Toronto's philosophy is enlightened; they have not succumbed to commercialism.

I simple love Yue Yue...in the videos I’ve seen of her, she’s always very well mannered, gentle, feminine and courteous. Mummy Er Shun taught her well 😍😘❤️💕

These videos from The Toronto Zoo are telling in so many ways. We see so much compassion & caring, but I think it's very important to mention the things that we don't see. We don't see pandas who are crying, pacing, panting, listless & bored. Unfortunately, those are the attributes we see from the pandas at The National Zoo. What a shame that if Bei Bei, Mei Xiang & Tian Tian have to be in captivity, they can't be at a zoo like Toronto.

Happy Birthday to Jia Yueyue and Jia Panpan who turns two years old on October 13th!! It is so wonderful that the twins are celebrating their big moment with mom Er Shun and loving staff. The Toronto Zoo has set the best example for humane panda care by not forcibly breaking up the family like the National Zoo. Bravo Toronto for being the true voice for the precious pandas!

This panda is amusing and even amuses her keeper. The grand Emperess reclining pose drew an appreciative grin and "look at this" gesture from him. It was quite cute to see. I wonder how much this 22- month old Panda weighs and how tall she is. We love looking at the baby this keeper bottle feeds and have watch that video dozens and dozens and dozens of times. He clearly loves these remarkable, stubby critters. So do I.

Hi Nana, at 29 months, Yueyue weighs 50.5 kg. She looks pretty big in the video but actually looks rather small in person. I am glad you enjoyed the clip. Thanks for the comments!

Kate MP. thank you for your reply Kate. Perhaps you can help me with this question Is the Keeper in the film here the same man who is feeding a baby panda its bottle in short video where he puts bottle on hip pocket while baby latches on to his legs? love that one.

If you’re talking about the video posted by Saffirea back in May 2016, he is not the same keeper. The baby panda in the film is Yueyue though! Yes, that clip is special!

I wish there is a way to tag National Zoo DC to this video, Their keepers might learn how to be compassionate from Toronto zoo keepers. Thank you Kate for the wonderful video

It's not the keepers--it's the corporate structure. I would bet anything most (except those tied to higher admin) of the keepers disagreed with the decision to separate Bei Bei. I believe SNZ staff occasionally read comments on the posted videos of the three pandas. Place your comments there. Some will be read.

I'm glad you got to see the Toronto panda family. Do you know if their keepers will be moving with them to Quebec in the spring, or will they have new keepers?

Angie, thank you for your comment. I don't know the answer. Usually keepers don't move with the pandas to a new location, but I would love to see the same keepers in Calgary since the Toronto Zoo won't have any more pandas to care for after the Da Mao Family's departure. The panda staff has done a phenomenal job!
