21st Century Skills: Cross Cultural - Building Classroom Culture

Lesson Overview
We have been engaged in a study of media with a lens of looking for instances of racial bias and cultural insensitivity including age, gender, etc. Students have gathered data on a particular organization of their choice using various media and research. Students were in organization-alike groups (which are also cross-cultural groups) analyzing the data they have gathered, This is in preparation for writing persuasive letters to the organization about changing what they’re currently doing or Public Service Announcements to their peers and community about what they found.
21st Century Skill
Cross Cultural - Communicate interact, and work with individuals from other cultural groups. We are also ingesting the perspectives of other cultural groups, sensitive to issues of bias, racism, prejudice and stereotyping, aware of how cultural beliefs, values, and sensibilities affect the way they and others think and behave.
