Some would find it boring to sit and look at nothing but rocks, rocks and more rocks, but this is actually ANOTHER PLANET! Its kind of an escape for me. Beautiful. Well presented.

Thank you for these great summaries! They really bring home the practice of space exploration.
These updates are so exciting, 3 months feels so long but it’s worth the wait
The close-up photos are remarkable! Look how clean the equipment is. Not a fragment of dust or sand. Lots of sedimentary rocks, proving ancient water activity.
Amazing video, thank you for keeping us all up to date on space exploration!
It's fascinating, I'd like to be one of the humans that will see these wonders in person!
A scratched rock, scratched by other rocks falling against it.... wouldn't think too much of it 😂

When a new episode of Elderfox is released all the rest can wait !! My number 1 channel !!
i find this series fascinating. thanks for sharing!
I love your videos ! Makes my mind wonder what the planet looked like when it had an atmosphere and water . Must have been a wonder to truly behold. Thanks again.
Stunning work. I sit here watching this thanks to the net, amazed that in my lifetime i get to see Abbott and Costello march and fly around Mars so easily. Technology has come a long way from the Moon landing!
Every Sol, I feel like we are getting closer to the inevitable. We are going to find life on Mars. Wether or not that life is still living has yet to be known. It's not impossible for Mars to bare life. Mars was just like Earth in its early days, the ideal place for life to develop. The hurtle is finding said life, if it formed at all before the murder of the planet.

There is plenty of life on Mars, but this isn't Mars.
These updates are appreciated, interesting to see the progress, thanks 🙏♥️🇬🇧
We are just happy to see the channel alive again. And that you are in good health. Is it just me or have the images from the rover been a far higher quality then what was released in the past? For instance 5:15 (or any time around there on that image) seems like the pixel count is 4x what it normally is.

Thank you so much. Yes, I have a more powerful PC now, and I'm stitching some of the mosaics together myself. This means the images are much higher quality and are even rendered in a higher framerate with a higher bitrate. So an all-around improvement in image quality where I can, thanks for noticing! :)
@revtoyota

@@ElderFoxDocumentaries Ahh ok that makes sense. It makes a big difference having that extra horse power when rendering. I just looked and I was watching it in 1080p when I noticed it. lol... You did a great job. So now I will go back watch it in 4k. I want all those frames. If you don't mind me asking whats the average render time for a video like today?
@ElderFoxDocumentaries
Жыл бұрын
Sure, with my new PC, it's less than 30 mins. With a standard run of the mill gaming PC, probably 1 or 2 hours. An older PC or laptop, however, would likely struggle, and you'd have to decrease the bitrate or framerate. The image you refer to at around 5:30 was 25mb, so it's processing 25mg 60 times to generate 1 second of film where any movement is involved.

@@ElderFoxDocumentaries That's not bad at all. I'm guessing you are letting the GPU do the heavy lifting over the CPU. But either way it has a great final product. That frame rate looks amazing on YT. During the sickness that shall not be named I started a pet project up scaling/rendering some of my favorite older films to 4k. The average 1hour 30 minute movie took just short of 3 days of letting the pc chug along. Thank you for your answers and time. I don't want to bug you. Have a great day man, I can't wait for the next video.

I grew up watching documentaries with my dad, and some of the narration was just God awful. And they would spend 5-10 mins talking about one photo and just keep changing the angle of the photo and slowly zooming in every 60 seconds, it was like watching a 40 min slide show presentation with only 5-6 slides. Very boring. This wasn't only very informative but also a pleasure to listen to and watch. Great timing on all of it, had my full attention through the whole video. This channel deserves to be bigger.

I'm absolutely blow away that our national debt is immense and there are cities like Detroit that have become ghettos and there are pandemics lie COVID and yet we can spend trillions of dollars exploring a wasteland, and for what value? What has the exploration of Mars done to enrich your daily grind here on earth? Wake up.

Awesome
I love rocks!!!
What l find amazing is the film from mars is crystal clear....whilst film taken from your average Earthbound security camera is worthless..This is great stuff I'm binge watching
Right about 6:33 while the rovers abrader is working you can see the loose soil to the left of the sample rock start subsiding from the vibration. I would think that should give the scientists some information on the surface soils compaction, density etc.
How did I miss this DARN YOU KZread FOR NOT GIVING ME THE NOTIFICATION EVEN THOUGH THE BELL IS ON
The two lighter circular areas @ 6:06 were formed when water seeped into some cracks and then froze which popped off some rock flakes when the ice expanded Exposing the lighter material. So does that mean it happened recently? No, it cold have been covered in dust preserving the lighter color, and might have recently been cleared from dust devil activity.
mars is so beautiful
Thank god rovers pet rock is still there
Come to my back yard. I have lots of freaking rocks.😂😂
I wish the videos could be longer, as the material is so interesting and captivating. I could easily watch a 3 hr video and not be board with the content!
"Weirdly scratched rock.. Moving on!" lol
This is incredibly interesting 🤔
I'm just waiting to hopefully see some kind of life or existence....I still can't believe this is real..its so fascinating and kind of mind blowing ..
The very first Rocks shown look like Sedimentary Rocks, very easy to find on Earth along any River or old River Bed.
2:45 This pile of flat rocks pushed together looks like an ancient river bed forcing the rocks upon each other into a vertical manner.
So gald I came across these presentations. My Inner (and totally geek-ified) child has been squealing! Cheers, Dick from Vancouver.
Thank you for these videos.....sooooo interesting. I have a question. How are the samples going to be transported back to earth? Have they decided? Thank you.
The fixation on WATER is overwhelming. But if you keep repeating something over and over then eventually people take it as fact. There are many other ways all these things could have happened but water, water, water, water ...

Easiest way to mind control the masses is to keep up the illusion/fear of scarcity of resources. Water is the biggest most important one after oxygen. Let us imagine for a moment that planetary exploration is actually possible and is not a total hoax lie that it is. It would be a huge waste of money and time/energy that could be better spent improving the lives of so many hear in Earth but it it would a 100% waste of money as 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of all humanbeings will never live on another planet as the cost and energy to get them there would be out of their financial reach. NASA/SPACE AGENCIES......Stealing taxes since their very beginnings.
Space ships & rovers are all beautiful tech stuff but rationally I could never understand why people find Mars scenery relatively beautiful in any sense. I mean Earth is literally the most beautiful planet than any other celestial body we have ever discovered.
It looks like a geologists fantasy land 👍
