21.03.24 Drone footage from the new volcano eruption in Iceland (lava flow on day 6)

Ғылым және технология

#iceland #volcano #eruption
New volcanic eruption started here in Iceland at 20:23 local time 16th march 2024. On the 21st of March (day 6 of the eruption) we did a thorough drone live stream covering the area where the lava flow has started flowing over roads near a quarry open pit-mine located north of Grindavík.
That quarry had been used to fetch material for the lava protective walls, the area had been evacuated way before the lava flow came close.
Disclaimer: The sounds are not the real sounds from that day, they are added during post production for better viewing experience.

It's not that difficult. If it's too hot close to the lava and too cold far away from it, Darboux's theorem guarantees that there is a place between the above two places where it will be just right.

Hi, the video is fantastic! But the audio is not original, but just some other recording. I think, Isak really should clearly mention that in the video description. Personally, I want to know what is real and what is not. * Edit: Isak shortly after my comment added the disclaimer to the video description that the audio is not original. * Thanks for making it all clear for anybody!

On the one hand I really like the sounds. On the other hand, I know they're not real (because you can't hear the drone). And the fact that the exact same one or two sound loops are used for EACH ONE of these videos makes me feel they're not accurate at all. Still cool sounding, but a bit of a bummer. I would prefer if the sound is more realistic to the state of the eruption. In this case that would probably not be much sound at all.

Such excellent video work, Isak. Wow, Earth! How were ever able to keep your drone so steady in that sideways wind sleet snow - and you must have been freezing. But what a cool contrast with the lava and the steam. Thank you for this. ❤
