Ryan, I seriously have to give you and the crew major props for the quality of your videos. I just watched TFL’s videos, and while they’re my go to for a lot of things they missed the mark with the quality and detail of their released video. Looking forward to your future updates and tests!
Once my 4th gen dies I’ll buy this, so in 10 years

Brother you won’t have to replace your current 4Runner in ten years unless you want to!! On my used 1997 I drove her for 346,000 miles until I sold her. My neighbor still driving her!! I really like the Trail Runner trim. But I’m afraid that it will be a $60K+ 4Runner!!
The color on the trailhunter is phenominal. I'd LOVE to see that color on a GR86.

I really dont like the grey/green that is inside the trailhunter. It looks like a weird grey mint or something, and I guess they dont have color options bc they keep showing this ONE combo

I really wish it was not exclusive to the trailhunter. I have no reason to go that high in trim.
Great video, at first I was bummed by all of the stock Toyota supplied footage and that you weren't actually there. But the level of detail you went into and covering all the trims was so much better Than, the video I just watched where the two guys were there. Great job
I've owned two 4runners over the last 24 years and this will be my next. LOVE it!

I just purchased my outback wilderness (largely influenced by this channels reviews) and truly love it. But man, this trailhunter is just on another level of manliness.
I think the combination of Toyota's B-roll and Ryan's commentary is expertly done!!
You’re the reason why I now own a 2024 4runner TRD Off Road Premium 🙏🏼
Thanks for the review, love the videos in general. Will the turbo require premium gas?
I really loved the production quality of this video! It made me want to sit down and _really_ pay attention to this one. I've been viewing long enough to know you're a big fan of the 4Runner, so this was a very creative way to show your passion and build a lot out of a little. I dunno if this might be an odd thing to compliment you on but it really stood out to me so I wanted to let you know. ✨

What a beautiful car and a true 4x4 beast. I'm stunned by Toyota recent design language... So aggressive and a huge improvement over their usual classical boring designs

I don't understand Toyotas logic with some of these new suv releases. You have a 4runner vs a LC250 vs a GX550 (99% similar everything outside engine setup). How do buyers distinguish between a 4runner vs a LC250 when they are all made in the same factory. And when you look at the prices between a high end TRD Pro 4runner vs LC250 entry level trim, it's virtually same price, similar engine setup, etc. Then you got the GX550 with way too much tech vs tried and true old classical keep it simple engineering on Prado/GX460, etc. New Toyotas are a big disappointment that simple rely on loyal Toyota buyers to buy these new unreliable tech toys on wheels. Nissan/Infiniti 2025 models earned my business. Snatched a 24 Nissan Patrol as well to complement my 21 LX570. Now how to import it to the states from Dubai is a different story. 😅

@@sportsinvestor101 Toyota is doing what any titan company likes to do: siturate the market segments with their cars to make any customer whatever he wants, finds something within their wide range! And this strategy, as costly as it is for Toyota, works well in sales! You mentioned all these Toyota models with small differences and very close pricing but you can't ignore that all of them sell very well and actually all of them and all of Toyota models in general are extremely hard to get as mostly pre-booked for months, if not over a year! I gave up trying to find a new rav4 hybrid limited as it is a 16 months wait! Thinking of a CRV as it is stock
@TahoeKing
Ай бұрын
@@sportsinvestor101 good luck getting that Patrol to the states! As someone who lived for a long time in the middle east I know Patrol very well and drove many models all the way to the one you got (I drove the 2021 which is mainly the same as the one you got... Actually my manager has it and since we were in good relationship I took it for a drive 😁) ... It's such a nice car but heavy as hell on gas (and I owned 2 Chevy Tahoes so I'm used to 8 Cylinder engines consumption).

@@sportsinvestor101 Toyota is doing what a any titan company is doing, flooding the market with their cars so it fits all kinds of customers. It is a costly strategy but toyota has deep pockets and it works well for them in sales as all their models are selling like crazy and pre booked for up to a year in advance. I gave up trying to find a rav4 hybrid limited and now considering crv instead as it is stock
@TahoeKing

@@sportsinvestor101I don't agree their new models are a disappointment, it is the opposite! They are finally getting rid of their boring designs and (a car as an appliance) mentality, and mind you I'm not a big fan of Toyota but recently I'm considering their models as interesting, although pricey. Of course their high reliability and resale prices adds big time to the attraction, as a previous Nissan Altima owner who suffered heavily from Nissan lousy quality and even suffered to sell the car as scrap as no scrap shop wanted it 😂
Ryan, when it comes to off road analysis of passenger vehicles you are the best prepared by far. The hard work that you put into your testing facilities and video’s, not to mention your knowledge makes a world of difference to me. The fact that you didn’t waste your time traveling down to San Diego for a non-driving review says it all. Let the posers and interlopers do that.
As an owner of a 2021, I love the evolutionary styling, and appreciate that Toyota did not immediately depreciate my vehicle with a radical change. I'm now a loyal Toyota buyer for life.
Great detailed review! Loved the comparison. Do we know if any trim of the 2025 4runner will have the KDSS suspension like the 5th gen TRD offroad has?
This was one of the (if not the) best 4Runner videos
Looks great I'm stoked
After finishing your review, I must say it's a bit fancy. Awesome no doubt, just fancy. I'm curious to see the SR5. Loving that everest color. Excellent video Ryan, thanks from Florida!

The cinematography skills here are 10/10. Top tier quality content like always.
Can't wait to watch the review of these guys. They look damn good.
As always Sir.....an Awesome and thorough introductory review. Looking forward to a proper trail opinion now. My first impression is that my 5th Gen 2020 TRD ORP "Venture" (non-KDSS) just gained several $K in resale value. And....I am not going to sell it just to have the newest 6th Gen. Not really "that" impressed, especially considering price "leaks" bouncing around the net. Just my $0.02 worth. You have surely answered many new car buyers questions, over many years and makes/models, simply from your transparency, tact and detailed information! Much respect and thank you for what you do Sir......Happy Trails!
It's still sad to see the V6 die
Probably need to do this on a different video Ryan, but Toyota really needs to consider putting multi terrain select all 4WD 4R, Land Cruisers, etc. Even some crossovers of other brands have MTS. Yes leave the rear locker for the more off-road oriented trims like off-road Pro TrailHunter. But out here in the Outer Banks sand mode is clutch.
Glad this gets memory seats. I still can't believe they left that off of the 2024 Tacoma. Litterally the only feature I noticed missing. Hopefully the 2025 Tacoma fixes that problem.
Best video of the new 4Runner I’ve seen so far. Great Job! Looking at the Taco it seems like top trims of the new 4Runner will cross 60K. It’s the world we live in, but seems very close to the new Land Cruiser…. Seating position of the Land Cruiser will be better without feet laid out in front of you like the 4Runner..
Regarding that Everest comment.... It's funny if you know that the Bronco used to have trim packages called Standard, Mid, High, and Luxe. For 2024, they combined the High and Luxe, so folks in the forums understand this as High/Luxe. 😂
I’m looking forward to a full review of this!
Love it! All the other reviews I’ve seen on the 6th Gen 4Runner are largely carbon copies of each other with the same static footage. You brought a refreshingly different approach and like others have already shared, you deserve major props for standing out in a crowded space. I put my deposit down on a Trailhunter- can’t wait! Thanks again!
My 2015 LTD coming up on 200k miles. After seeing this, there's no reason to not go to 300k. It's nice, but not as nice as no car payments. And I hope the engine performs better than it looks. What a mess.

All those hoses in the engine bay just make me think of how less reliable this engine will be. This is going to majorly change the ownership experience of a 4Runner and, IMO, take away one or the key benefits of the 4Runner over its competition.

The engine compartment looks like a horrendous pile of problems, 4 cylinder with a turbo no thanks. Next they will make it with a CVT lol. I love my old 4 runners (2000 and 2002) for their simplicity and everything else that made Toyota so good. New Toyotas are overly complex expensive garbage.

Nice video Ryan. Different then everyone else.
I have a 21’ TRD Pro that I thought was great until I saw my friends new Tundra. With the interior changes I’m interested. What I didn’t hear is MPG numbers. That really does make a huge difference as to my interest in a potential upgrade.
Same. My 2005 is only halfway to 500k miles. Just getting broken in.
I think you can take my money now for a Mudbath Pro. Great video as always!
Great videos! Question- do the second row seats come completely out? We like to sleep in the vehicle and keep our gear on the roof.
So the trailhunter doesn’t have a full time 4wd while the limited does but doesn’t have crawl control or mts. I want the trailhunter but i live in Seattle and it rains all the time. I like the added safety of awd. Will the trailhunter part time 4wd make sense in seattle rains?
Just loved mud color and pro trim
MTS in 4hi already works on the first MTS setting (mud/sand iirc). I've used it in my 2021 ORP
AMAZING!
I have a '21 ORP. Just happy they fixed the cup holder. If you know, you know.
Great video! So is the LC just for mall crawlers now??
Hey I drive a Ford Everest, based on the ranger chasis , great vehicle , more comfortable that the gen5 4runner I drove as a rental stateside
That looks tough, so good. Love that tan color
I like it. Looks like a mini 3G sequoia and I’ve been fond of it since it came out. I can’t wait for your reviews of this and the Land Cruiser.
Top contender for my money! Looks nice!
Nice! Looks great and I personally like the TRD Pro trim. The trailhunter is a bit too much offroady in its looks but sure that it is defenitely a game changer.
It looks fantastic- I’d love one!
They nailed it .. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nice, but I’m still glad I got the 2023 TRD ORP.
First of all I like your videos. Secondly I do love all Toyota models presented in the USA
Looks awesome and I figured they change the power train to the 4 cylinder like the taco. This would be a step up on fuel economy and hopefully ride quality, may temp me to go for it
Where's it made? Does it still have the hump when seats are down?
Any reason for no engine cover on turbo's?
The gloss on the fender flares on the TRD PRO is a must stop. Those things are going to scratch EASY! When on a trail.

Great job Toyota! On the TRD PRO fenders like the Trail Hunter would be more practical. Thank for the awesome video!
Looks great!
I'm not a Toyota guy, but that looks good.
Finally, it looks amazing!
Well I was thinking about maybe a Ranger with the FX4 package or a Tacoma TRD Off Road (still need to sit in it though) but now seeing the 4Runner, I’m thinking this in the TRD Off Road trim. Totally appropriate for living here in the PNW. Really like the style and the cues to previous gens.
They still did well for it to look like a typical 4runner, even though it has a tacoma vibe to it. Am digging it. It has no engine cover. The TRD looks very cool.
35 inch BFG Goodrich ko3 would look amazing 🤩 in this beautiful car
Looking good so far a bit of the old and new updates . I will probably get used to the 4 banger eventually, after all the first and second generations had 4 cylinders . 😊
The colours are…super awesome!!
It’s pretty sweet. Can’t wait for the Stout Trailhunter.
Definitely want this beast to replace my RAV4. The only concern I have is the size of the engine.

It certainly did not disappoint. I think it's the perfect edition for the newest evolved 4Runner
Awesome!!
I like when the truck forward over hard ground and it maintenance its stability.
I sure loved the new interior/dash.
I have a highly modified subaru forester wilderness, but I'm thinking a few years down the road, I'll be going for that trailhunter when it's time to get a new vehicle!
My 2004 sports edition is begging to be replaced. I wanted the TRD Pro, but I can’t do camo seats. So I’ll have to go with the Trailhunter (as long as it’s not over $65K). Anything more, I’ll have to get the GX550 Overland+ when the hybrids launch.
FINALLY!!!
Do we know what trims are getting the third row options?
@drivingsports

So much info is TBD still. 😬
Best detailed coverage yet! But do you like the new 4R? You were there. You had 1st looks, 1st hands on. Do you like the engine choices? 8 gears now? DC sway bar? No more KDSS? TRD and trailhunter get more GC? How much more? Is the power lift gate on all trims? Does the rear locker engage quicker now? From what I see and know thus far, glad I have my 2018 TRD OR and I am NOT trading up. It would be a trade down IMO. The Land Cruiser has more curb appeal. And I don't like its engine choice either. lol

The door tag only says mid-800lbs payload max. But I'd wait until final numbers are announced before relying on that. Toyota has not announced official payload yet.
Trailhunter for me! but I'll wait a couple years before pulling the trigger, I have a '13, then in 2014 they changed the front. seems wise to wait for a year or few for updates to the original
Can you get the Trailhunter in colors other than the green one?
I am still hoping for a 4Runner/Taco with an efficiency-minded hybrid system. Maybe in 2026. I’m torn between current gen for the amazingly reliable engine and the 6th gen for a smoother transmission and updated crawl control system. I’m curious to see what fuel efficiency the turbo 4 will provide. I am so-so on the new looks. I prefer the painted paneling on the Limited over the TRD trims. I like the current TRD Off Road looks the best, though.
Great. Can't wait when You take hands on it and take it to yors off road course. Greetings
