I think inside out 2 could either be toy story 4 or incredible 2. It received gigantic box office and audience reception but it was kinda the same reception as incredibles 2 ( love or hate TS4 , it received the same amount as its precedent) also o doubt inside out 2 will win golden globe or bafta since theu are award that arent sequel friends

My Best Animated Film Predictions for now: 1. Inside Out 2 (After loving it, I’ll keep it as the front runner but keeping my eye out for competition.) 2. The Wild Robot (This playing at TIFF can be a good sign and it’s a co-Director of How To Train Your Dragon. Could give it competition.) 3. The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim 4. Memoir of a Snail 5. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl Other possibilities: - Moana 2 - Orion and the Dark

@@carlosatausupa8429 I’m not too sure about that one. I wasn’t too impressed with the trailer. Unless if it surprises and the reviews are really good, then maybe.

My Visual Effects Predictions at the moment: 1. Dune Part Two (Winning hands down!) 2. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (Good film and it will stay a lock.) 3. Gladiator II (I don’t think it will win this category like the first but hearing details are convincing me.) 4. Deadpool and Wolverine (I also see it as like No Way Home and does have that same level of anticipation. The MCU has gotten criticized for hit and Miss CGI for a few years and I hope it’s up to par.) 5. Alien: Romulus (I feel like I have it a little higher than most do. I heard they’re using a lot of practical sets and creature work. If it gets great reviews, maybe there’s a possibility.) Other possibilities: - Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (The effects were better than I thought and did look more practical after the trailers minus a few CG shots. I’m afraid since it underperformed at the box office, it might not get a lot of nominations.) - MUFASA: The Lion King (I’m not feeling this one either. Trailer didn’t impress me and I admire the photo realism but just might be emotionally hollow with little to no emotion.) - Twisters - Here (Want to see a trailer first before I say anything.)

The problem with Alien Romulus is that the vfx branch doesn't care about practical effects anymore. There's not much new ground to break. This is the same branch that didn't shortlist Oppenheimer in the top 20. And whenever movies try to say they only used practical effects like Top Gun: Maverick, it turns out it was all a lie and it has like 2,000 VFX shots. And also, the quality of the movie never matters in Visual Effects. Just look at last year, Napoleon got nominated, yet no one liked it. The Creator may have won if it was just the vfx branch choosing the winners. And look at past VFX nominees like Transformers: Dark of the Moon, The Lion King, The Lone Ranger. They don't care if the movie is well-received, they only care about the craft. And I feel Alien: Romulus is just going to be considered too "been there, done that" in terms of visual effects.

Nightbitch right now is also my runner up for Make up because I do have the film in for best picture, and I also have Amy Adams winning best actress, and the make up seems to revolve around Amy Adam’s character with the dog transformation, it’s true that the make up branch doesn’t celebrate horror that much, but Poor Things won last year, it’s not a horror movie but it has horror make up, and also if Amy Adam’s is winning actress, then that make up win would pair well with recent trends between acting and make up in the last few years with Poor Things, The Whale, and The Eyes of Tammy Faye, with Poor Things also being from searchlight It’s not my #1 though simply because we don’t know what the creature looks like yet

@@TheHannahcast she’s supposed to turn into a dog and that transformation is supposed to be a metaphor on motherhood, which would help the narrative I feel like toward a make up nomination cause it represents something in symbolism

I’m looking for alternatives for Dune because I don’t think it’s going to be as successful in wins as the 1st because it’s something the academy’s seen before and awarded 6 times, so I have films like Blitz winning cinematography (cause there’s gonna be bomb scenes), Conclave winning editing (cause it’s rumored to be very lively and moving), Beetlejuice Beetlejuice winning Make up (cause the 1st film won too), and Joker 2 winning Costumes and Production Design (cause it’s different from the 1st film) Although I don’t think Dune 2 goes away empty handed, right now I have it winning Visual Effects, Sound, and Director however I’m not as confident in the director win, but I have the belief right now that Dune 2 might be the biggest film of the award season, maybe not in terms of wins, but as a film in general being able to show up in precursors, and best director typically goes to the biggest film of the award season, so there’s a path for it
