2025 Cupra Terramar Unveiled - better than Tiguan and Kia Sportage?

Speculation suggests that the new Cupra Terramar will debut this year. The 62-mile all-electric range offered by this rivals the plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid powertrains of the Volkswagen Tiguan and Kia Sportage. Based on battery capacity, which is currently unknown, its estimated pure electric range is estimated at 62 miles (100 kilometers). A small crossover with an internal combustion engine (ICE) will also be on sale, and may be among the VW Group's final petrol engine designs. It's about 177 inches long, and it's built on the MQB platform, which is aimed at small, high-volume, gas-powered cars. In terms of design for 2025, curved headlights that recall the Cupra Born and Cupra Tavascan protrude from under the hood. Plus, the Terramar seems to buck the trend for large grilles and stands out with its simple air intake arrangement. From the side, the roofline is more angular than the Volkswagen Tiguan, for which the Terramar will receive many components. The large light bar at the back will look more contemporary. While details regarding the new Terramar engine range are still sketchy, Cupra promises mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid possibilities. The upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan will likely share these features. The entry-level vehicle will likely have a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 150 horsepower. Given that this is enough to propel the Tiguan to 60 mph in 9.1 seconds, it's reasonable to anticipate that the Terramar will show comparable performance. Sales of the new Cupra Terramar are scheduled to begin before the end of 2024, following its full introduction later this year. While we don't know the exact price yet, we might expect it to be comparable to the Volkswagen Tiguan. A minimum investment of £35,000 is recommended.
