I was also waiting for R3 from the last 3 years, but now with the pricing I am looking for other options, Yamaha wants to be a leader only in the 150cc segment but not in the higher CC segment, Good luck Yamaha for the feature keep launching your product at higher price and loose your potential customers to other brands. As you say listen to your heart not to your mind, now my heart and mind saying no to R3

Yes Brother. I converted the price in Japan into Indian Currency. It's 1.08 lakh INR. And they are selling that here at 4.65 lakh INR ex showroom. Really ??? 3.5 Lakh is for what ? Export duty ????????

Hardcore R3 fan! Owned it from 2016 for 5 years. Most user-friendly and touring capable in the segment. Going again for the new R3 doesn't make sense, but still, I wanted to. I expected a price of 3.99L to revive the memories. But for now, RS 457 makes so much more sense or save a lot more money and get something substantial.

Rs457 is going to smoke it in all aspect

Yamaha gives every Fancy gimmick for R15 but they don’t offer slipper clutch,TFT display and Traction control for parallel twin and the price is so high

How wud any1 know if its a R15 or R3 minus the stickers?

Thus Yamaha nails a coffin for itself.. once again. Very soon, it'll be discontinued thanks to its CBU (CRAPPY BUSINESS UNDERSTANDING).. Thanks once again to Yamaha for aligning Aprilia's fortune and help KTM and RE keep the market share for a long time to come.. Now, with this pricing fiasco old R3s will command all the more extra premium.. 🤧🤦

These 3 Big Japanese are badly disappointing the Indian market!! They have been stuck with their 1-2 commuter two-wheelers for years! they haven't realised that the Indian automobile market is going through premiumization, people are going for bigger n premium bikes..Bikes aren't just a mode of commute in the Indian market like it used to be 20-30 years back! The Economy is growing and so the people's income, hence they are ready to buy bigger bikes or cars provided they are priced well! 🤨 At least these Japanese should learn from Indian biggies of RE,TVS and Bajaj, how far these Indian brands have come in the last 15-20 years!

4L -4.5L is the risk a middle class guy can take beyond that for 300cc no matter a Yamaha fan, simple can’t afford it and it’s not worth the money invested on it also with minimum features, I understand that it’s CBU route but still.

Bro I accept that the bike is raw.but you will not feel the surge of power or excitement when you accelerate.power is equally spread across the rev range.If somebody has ridden Duke 390 or even rr310.He will find this bike to be really boring.sad but true.Even for a price tag of 5 lac rupees the 42hp and 29nm torque is really low.

@aakashdeep2513 completely agreed bro, still the RR310 and RC 390 lacks the handling of R3 and they are all good in low and mid range when it comes to top end performance u can keep this beast in above 7000 rpm throughout the ride, whereas the other two really thieves to be settle in the top end, am i right. I agree price is too high and it should half lakhs lesser at least.

Machine is really beautiful but yamaha kills it by price Compaired to aprilia it looks more slick and sharp as well as premium than aprilia while aprilia looks more bulky. If yamaha reduces price in future then I'll definitely buy this black beauty 🖤

R15M is way better than this because it offers more options like quick shifter, traction control, slipper assist clutch, color tft display, etc. half of this price you are getting more. Waste of money. Not expected this from Yamaha.

That's yamaha guys... Of course it'll be costly. 310rr is 3 lakh and r15 is 2.5 lakh... It was obvious r3 was gonna be 5 lakh around that too after cost cutting on many features TFT,slipper clutch etc

To survive and compete in this segment with others Yamaha need to bring it via ckd soon and then later manufacture in india. It will be cheaper than aprillia if they decide to make it here. Can’t buy it at this price point, ll cancel the 8 months old booking. Booked rs 457 today. Ll buy if the ride quality and feel is awesome, else ll have to wait for r3 to come as ckd or would rather go with a used ninja 400

Dino bhai. Really had to ask one question. Why Yamaha is not interested in India. Why can't they manufacture their bigger capacity motorcycles in India. Atleast why can't they make a big capacity single in the 400 - 450 cc segment with very high performance and premium components. What about MT 07, MT 09, R7. Atleast they can do CKD for India. Why is there no manufacturing of big capacity motorcycles in India. Is it due to lack of engineering skills or is it due QC issues of components manufactured in India or are the Indian riders still immature or is it due to the very high taxes imposed by government and very high furl prices. Expecting to know the reason.

We can accept the R3 only in 3.5 range given that the tech and design are primitive.

old r3 was a beast and best looking

Its a twin so heat will be low compared to any single cylinder in the market

Always with Gt 650!! these two are of diff kind. but the tremendous torque of gt makes it a fun machine in indian roads.

With the current Indian bike market, this is suicide. Sad part is with this bike failing yamaha might be reluctant to bring their other big bikes in future.

With Aprilia around , yamaha seem to have messed up with high pricing.

Thing is R15 ships with more equipment than R3 and both are expensive! Yet the R15 sells like hot pan cakes. This quarter litre segment is lost to RS457, hope they had priced it competitively...

For peeps who are buying the is should know that the units being brought here are the defective units from the Indonesian factory that even peeps over there don’t want. Adding the fact that since it’s CBU, all of its spare parts will come at a premium price which makes absolutely no sense to buy

Yamaha is a expensive brand if it's price would be low then its would be same like ktm rc and Duke and it's brand value would go down ... Yamaha has properly planned and launched it ❤🎉

A message to inexperienced riders and young enthusiasts. Parallel Twins under 400cc always were and still continue to be a Gimmick! go for singles, save heaps of cash, enjoy more torque, and lastly (this is where young people fall for completely false information from wannabe "GURU automotive journalists" a better overall exhaust note. Yup. don't trust them, trust your ears. a low displacement (under 400cc) parallel twin engine sounds completely dogshit. whether if it's a 90 degree crankshaft (tractor like exhaust note) 180 degree (sounds like muffled Laksmi bomb ngl) 360 degree (sounds like a garbage truck) 270 degree (decent but doesn't have the bass of a single) Hope this helps!

The 2023 Yamaha R3 has slipper Clutch but the one being sold India doesn't. Moreover these are CBU units. This means that these units are the unsold old international units that Yamaha wants to get rid of by selling in India. I hope people will understand the game Yamaha is playing to cheat Indian customers. Instead of #YES_YAMAHA say #NO_YAMAHA

It's a 3 yr old design. And highly priced. No slipper clutch no tft traction etc. it's a feel good bike like cbr250. Amazing tourer.But outdated.

I was their why these all guys were riding it on BIC lot of these guys definitely failed to get out a lot from r3. It is actually proper track bike not like single cylinder ktms.

My heart bleeds blue , but this blue is not justifying what yamaha used to be its just like a Nokia in mordern bike world of slippers clutch, tft's and traction control.Sorry to say sir but yamaha hasn't done any market research before dumping unsold R3's from Indonesia.Thanks for a detailed review.

I am owner of MT15. I have nothing to say about pricing of Yamaha. Once you ride yamaha bike you will feel why Yamaha is some expensive. Because yamaha is no 1 motorcycle brand in the world.

Get a ninja 300 for 3.45 lakhs. 1.20 lakhs left for accessories and fuel. Happy riding 🎉
