De originele MT-09 is al tien jaar geleden onthuld, en dit jaar biedt het vernieuwde model nog spannendere ritten en pure adrenaline. De agressieve en strakke syling geïnspireerd op de R1M benadrukken het sportieve karakter van de MT-09 SP.
Het motorblok van de Yamaha MT-09 SP
De nieuwe MT-09 heeft het nieuwste 890 cc, vloeistofgekoelde DOHC EU5+ CP3-driecilindermotorblok met vier kleppen. Volgens de filosofie van Jin-Ki Kanno is het geluid een belangrijk aspect van dit nieuwe motorblok. Het is de bedoeling om de zintuigen te stimuleren, zodat de motorrijder zich één voelt met de motor.
Een van de meest kenmerkende eigenschappen van dit nieuwe model met het nieuwe CP3 motorblok is dan ook het geluid. Elke draai aan de gashendel geeft je een gevoel van adrenaline terwijl je brullend door de straat rijdt.
De MT-09 SP
Naast dat de MT-09 SP al drie verschillende rijmodi heeft, sport, street en rain, beschikt de MT-09 SP exclusief over de track modi. Hiermee kun je vier extra patronen aanpassen aan bepaalde circuitscenario’s. Je kan het motorremmanagement en het niveau remcontrole aanpassen. ABS is ook uit te schakelen op het achterwiel om de prestaties op het nog verder te verbeteren.
Ook beschikt de MT-09 SP over de nieuwe Brembo monoblock Stylema remklauwen om de remprestaties te verfijnen met de allernieuwste technologie. De remklauwen hebben een slankere zuiger- en remschoenoppervlak, zijn lichter en stijver waardoor je meer controle behoudt bij het remmen. Daarnaast worden zuigers met een grotere diameter gebruikt voor meer remkracht, zodat je next-level remprestaties kunt ervaren.
De premium Öhlins vering die exclusief is voor de SP brengt rijeigenschappen en precisie op supersport-niveau. De vering is volledig instelbaar voor de hoogst eisende rijders.
Technologie aan boord van de MT-09 SP
De MT-09 SP is de eerste Yamaha Hyper Naked motor met het Smart Key Systeem. Het motorblok wordt gestart door de nieuw ontworpen schakelaar in te drukken en te draaien. Dit kan echter alleen als de sleutel in de buurt is, zoals in je broekzak. Dit nieuwe systeem zal de rijervaring nog verder vereenvoudigen.
De compacte zesassige IMU is ontwikkeld op basis van de R1 en bestuurt de hightech rijhulpsystemen van de MT-09 SP, waaronder een tractioncontrolsysteem met drie standen, een glijcontrolesysteem, een liftcontrolesysteem voor het voorwiel en een remcontrolesysteem. Deze technologie, die de beste in zijn klasse is, beschikt nu over een Back Slip Regulator die stabilisatie biedt als het achterwiel blokkeert bij overmatig remmen. Dat doet hij door het niveau van de geproduceerde koppel te regelen.

Yamaha really outdid themselves on this one.
This looks soooo nice, this is honestly what the Gen 3 should have been, still not a big fan of that keyless system, wish they would have just stuck with the traditional key

I wanted the keyless. Up until the second I held the key in my hand. Let’s just say, don’t leave your key out in the sun or it will get very brittle

Are those leavers stock or aftermarket? Other pictures I have see of thr SP have leavers like the base MT-09.

Única coisa para ter ficado mais bela essa MT09 fazer escape até o fim com aquecimento para dá aquele diferencial nos canos dos coletores aí iria fechar com chave de ouro! Mas muito muito MT09
I live in the Palm Springs area and the 2024 SP model is nowhere to be found around. There is an official Yamaha dealer but they don't have any in stock. I was told in Temecula that if I order now I can get the 2025 model next February😅 Does anyone have any good ideas?

Why did Yamaha introduce that keyless system? That was never a complaint of the old bike. Now where are we to place that massive loose fob, as I never ride with pockets fill of stuff, not to mention leathers.

@@Motoxlight slowly making their way from West Coast to East Coast. Haven't seen any East Coast yet but have seen them Mid-West. Guessing within the next few weeks. The problem is if you're not #1 on pre-order list at your dealer, you're still going to be waiting. Pre-ordered mine 11/02/2023. I'm 2nd in line due to a 23 SP deposit holder converting to 24 SP same day I placed my pre-order, so they're hoping July (I'm holding my breath)

@thasherm I'm number 1 at my dealer, and he is guaranteed 1 at the dealer. He said 3 other people want it and are on the list. What scares me is that I need to finance, but my credit dropped because of a credit card.. i have 2k deposit on it and will put 2 or 3 more down.. Hopefully I can get it finance Damn that blows!!! That happened to me last year with the 2023 sp. I gave up on it. Not giving up on this one now. Good luck brother

I’m in the Midwest, placed a deposit back in January at dealer. Dealers couldn’t physically order them from Yamaha untill 4 weeks ago, and the only ones they could order are for people who placed deposits… so people with no deposit sol

What?😂 it's a huge display over the last generation. And it's a full colour display like all the other TFTs out there. The video makes it look a bit fuzzy but that's just the camera

That headlight ruins the front styling . Big screen but tiny display no endrance chain , heated drips and what the heck have you done to the exhaust . Designed by a 10 year old .
