I wonder if the Tesla jumped or the Volvo has throttle lag like others have reported ?

It's true, the EX30 has a throttle lag at the start. The drivers did also switch cars between the first and second race, to make it fair if one driver maybe has a slower reaction. :)

@@edrivesweden just look at the Brake lights @2:44 in 0.25x speed. Nothing to do with throttle lag. The lights of the Volvo are still on while model Y is already moving. As soon as the brake lights went off, the Volvo startet moving. Just a better reaction time for the Tesla.

​@@Autohaus2010 your statement is correct however there still can be a delay between the " gas pedal being down" event and "car starts to move" event :) We can only know that by measuring this time or testdriving the car by ourselves :)

Just wierd clip. Rerun with a driver that can drive 😎 The EX30 had faster 0-100 time and 201m but lose both races. Other test showed that the EX30 can make around 3.6s easily with high SoC. The camera angle was on purpose 😏 The same with the acceleration padel that has a lag, that lag seams to be the winning edge with this high 0-100.

When will these channels realize track mode is for the track not drag racing, it literally cools the battery and motors down making it slower for straight line acceleration. Model y was down prob 40hp racing in track mode.

@@edrivesweden Tesla didn't, A person who might be uninformed who works at tesla might have. A 1 min google search would tell you it's not wise to use trackmode during a drag race hence why the plaid models have dragstrip mode to heat battery temp. For being a channel dedicated to ev cars I would think you'd know that ev's need heat in the batterys for optimal performance.

Best way to drag is to warm up motors by navigating to supercharger. It will precondition battery. Cancel right before race and it will be noticeably faster.

@@WJYK yes, this is true. Also as stated above, its not quickest in dragrace in track mode. However if one drives on the nurnburgring track mode is good, as it will prevent heatsoak. The battery for max power however needs a quite high temperature and track mode then on short dragraces will as stated in this thread cool excessivly. With navi to supercharger og using s3xy buttons "preheat battery" function will increase performance. Track mode is still fun though, as one can record videos, data from the car etc.

Still doesn’t explain being beaten by a car with 100+ hp less, 100+nm less and same weight. Tesla’s are simply overrated when it comes to performance.

The onboard of the EX30 makes it sound like the Volvo driver is slow. The sound of the pedal hitting the stop/floor comes way after "Go" where as it should be simultaneous. The Y is already moving before the throttle is floored in the EX30.

I guess Performance All-Wheel Drive is enabled on EX30? Otherwise there is additional throttle lag.

Which is better the model Y or the model X

Exactly. The Volvo seams to lose power when the % drops but the test should be done with high SoC.

@@Adderrrrr So does the tesla. I notice a power drop starting at around 60%. Plus idk if anyone can zoom in but i think the SOC on the tesla is low. Maybe 50%. They're supposed to do 0-60mph in 3.5.

It would be highly valued to show 0-100kmh(and 0-60kmh) times from both cars from the same run started at the moment the cars start to move, in that way viewers can even out the jump starts. Also would be nice to add rolling tests starting at 100kmh with statistics Additionally also the battery SOC plays huge role, in some of the cars it directly affects the performance To go even deeper, the ambient temperature would be good also but thats maybe too much to be asked. By adding these, will give people more good statistics and your videos will gain even more of interest. I ve been watching most of your videos :)

Cant understand why you do not manage to film and publish even starts, same launch. Almost every time one is way slower starter on this channel.

Guys settle down its a drag race! Having a laggy takeoff is part of that car. If they want it to be faster at a drag race then they need to implement a no lag takeoff.

Crazy Volvo doesn't increase the top speed in all of its cars to 200kmph. Most of their new faster cars can't even complete the quarter mile without hitting the top speed

Volvo maxs out at 180km/h, you can see it on the last run. Tesla keeps pulling till 210

They were exactly the same. The person counting down to go will get of the line first because the other person has to take in what he has said then put his foot down while the man saying go has put his foot down at that exact point. To be fair you need someone to stand between them countdown and drop there arms to start as they do on every drag race I see.

There is no way the Volvo would have won. The Tesla will just keep pulling away as the speed increases. It's Volvos decision to have a speed limiter because Volvo knows the EX can't handle higher sustained speeds.

No way? Look at the dragy times brother. Volvo was 2 tenths quicker on the quarter mile, which they were measuring. Tesla just left before the volvo on the launch.

Somebody lied? Volvo made both 0-100 and 1/4 mile quicker than Tesla, and it has the same weight as the Tesla, so it must have equal or more horsepower. but Tesla claimed having 25% more power which cannot be true

You gather the cars, all your gear, you go to the airfield, set everything up, and you just won't have the patience to try to get few drag races where both cars launch at the same time? Come on guys... On a positive note, the Dragy addition is great! Volvo seems to be quicker.

This test proved nothing. The Tesla jumped the line excessively and the Volvo has 112 mph limiter. Try a fair test and see what happens

The Tesla runs 1/2 second slower to 100 in track mode but its better for longer distances. The Volvo just doesnt have it to beat the Tesla. Stop crying Volvo losers.
