I wish I could agree with you. Worst bit of the show is the attempted high notes. I like the style of the lower stuff though.

I love how much stealing is going on this season. over the last 2 years flo marching has stole over 200$ from me by refusing to cancel subscriptions and now i don't have to use that trash anymore

Their audio team isn’t doing their job well.

The current trend away from drill is disappointing. This will be a competitive show with other units who also jazz run and pose.

Love the big fat Mexican Trumpet sound @10:10 which feels should continue but then ruined by squeaking high pitched out of tune crap, sorry but why do that. Great show otherwise!

I prefer last years show. Some good bits in this one though, and still a great corps identity. Need to lose the attempted high notes on the 4 trumpet feature. It's painful 😬

This show has a lot of work still to go. I was really distracted by the props and acting. Its seems like a lot of work to drag last year's giant Sun prop across the nation, only to park it and ignore it the entire show. Hasn't anyone discovered better guitar straps, like ones with a clip, so we don't have to watch the devil struggle to pull straps on and off, and on & off, over their hair-do? Why could we hear the electric guitar solo, but not the acoustic? Is having the devil also the guitarist a good choice? The character was a distraction wandering without purpose the first half of the show. Then what was that, a Light Saber? so a Star Wars Troopers? 2nd time I just listened to the music, and that was really entertaining.

Some of the things like the guatiar strap issue have already been fixed. There is way more to come this is no where near the finished product.

@@Polejoe Good to hear about the guitar straps. Don't they gain/lose points for use of props? I know the 2023 Sun must have been expensive, but unless they incorporate it into the show, it seems like a lot of effort to lug it around the nation. As an audience, it was a disappointment that they pulled it on the field, and then didn't spin it or interact with it.

@@hayglenda Im not 100% but I think they're not showing their full hand yet and some special wothbit is being held back . But regardless it helps set the tone and is still important since this is a continuation from last year.

Okay, brace yourselves folks because here comes the "crazy religious guy". But seriously, not to be a party pooper, but the Devil loves things like this show because he knows that people aren't really taking him seriously. And if people aren't taking him seriously, then that's one more soul he'll have because people don't feel the need to do anything about him. "He's just a harmless dude in red that has horns and a pitchfork (or guitar?), right? Easily beaten by some normal man (in an awesome uniform) kicking him and then stabbing him with a literal light. At least they are portraying that they are against the Devil though I wouldn't dance with anyone that's an enemy. Again, I know it's just a drumcorps show, but it also tells you a lot about people's thinking. I'm a little concerned, frankly. In my opinion, there are certain things you should never joke about, God being one of them. In the same way, I believe there are certain show themes that are not a good idea, like this one and "Sinnerman" from last year. We are in a battle against the forces of evil for our souls, and Satan is a "roaring lion, looking for someone to devour". We need to take this battle seriously, all I'm saying. I love Troopers. I thought their show last year was great, and of course "Voracious" the year before. I just can't support something like this, but I wish the kids the best of luck.

@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa16534 Exactly, which is why in the end it's about defeating the devil. Our lives are a constant battle with the devil/s (temptation to do wrong - "make deals") and we have to fight and triumph over them as best we can.

So, I have a kid marching this year with Troopers and I'm a pastor. Let me say, I do get where you are coming from and I had my own concerns when the show was initially released. I've talked to the actual show writer about the meaning while I was volunteering with them. As others have mentioned, this is a continuation of the past 2 years. Voracious showed the Troopers striking oil which gave them a taste of wanting more. In To Lasso the Sun, they went big to follow their dreams for the greater good, but at the cost of compromising themselves. To Dance with the Devil portrays the struggles we all have with our own inner demons (or sin nature, to get religious). Its easy to allow our selfish desires or vices to take over as we see the devil control the Corps in the beginning. But midway through, they begin to fight back. In the end, the Trooper embodies so much more than "just a normal guy." The Trooper is the heart and soul of the Corps and after a struggle, he overcomes and good wins out. This show is so much deeper than just a silly devil dancing around and being beaten by a shiny stick in the end. As I said, I went in a bit cautious especially knowing several staff and members of our church (including one of our elders) and my religious parents and grandma were coming to see one of our local shows. But the more I've learned about it (again, much from the show writer himself), the more I love it. The show is not intended to be a spiritual, God vs Devil, match up, but again about our own inner struggles. However, as a religious person, you can still put that spin on it saying that if we are not careful, the devil can come in and take control of our lives and we need to be vigilant to stand against him. But we know he's already been defeated for us by one man (on a cross.) Being on site with the Corps for the last 2 weeks, living at their spring training camp and traveling on their buses, this show has actually opened up some really great opportunities for me to talk about and share my faith, in the context of the show. And to see these hardworking young adults put hours upon hours in to create something this powerful, it is really inspiring. I hear you....but I would ask that you think again and give the concept another shot.

Started off quite nice, then it devolved into random noise that hurt the ears. 🤮 People, this is NOT “good”. This is offensive to the eyes and ears.
