This bike will take bike of the year. It’s great for beginners but it’s no beginner bike. 40 hp is plenty. Trust me. I’ve been riding for over 50 years. It’s a peach. They can’t get them delivered fast enough. Here in Canada we are still waiting to actually see one in person. My mate just bought one in early March and is still waiting for them to hit our shores. Incidentally, in Canada the allotment coming is about 80% sold and not one is in our dealerships yet. Very soon tho. As for shorter riders, simply check out the Speed 400. I agree with you that these bikes are worth more than asking price. I’m 65 years old and I’m finding a lot of my mates who ride litre plus bikes are now gravitating towards what we rode in the 70’s. Single or twin small displacement motorcycles. You know it’s true… that it’s more fun riding a slow bike fast than riding a fast bike slow. Great video. Cheers mate.

@@randycarter5410 My friend just took delivery of his speed 400. Break in done now and I got to tell you for a single cylinder thumper, this bike is smooth and fun. I’m 5’11” and weigh 212 pounds. At first I found it a bit small (I ride an adventure bike so ya, any roadster will feel small at first) but after getting going I was so impressed. Great bike. If I were to get one I’d be looking at the scrambler even tho I know the speed would be more nimble.

Great review. Actually 400cc is quite significant for a beginner. 125cc is a good start for a beginner. I am getting one in a couple of weeks, 1 month ahead of schedule, which I ordered mid December in Thailand. I rented a KTM390Duke last month just to get back on a proper motorcycle after 20 years riding only small scooters. That KTM was a blast and caught me by surprise a couple of times with unexpected punch. The Scram400x is a lot more comfortable and stable at speed but equally fun and light to throw into a corner. The look, finishing and price (USD4860 here!) are just unbeatable. Sometime it is good to realize that less is more.

I would definitely tell you to try the scrambler. I let my buddy who is 6'2 ride mine and he was surprised how comfortable it is. He rides a harley every day, so a little different seating position. But he said his knees never felt so good riding a bike. Im 5'7 and I am able to ride with no real problems too

Finally we are getting (back) nice looking and well made small displacement bikes. In the last year they looked so cheap and were just an ugly copy of their big sisters. Royal Enfield really did something in the market with their bikes
