Toyota has to remember these rigs have to be tough and designed for the Aussie bush and not over complicated with modern electronics , if they keep that up the landcuiser will always rule 👍

Had a look at the new model today at a local dealer, looks fantasic and I can't wait to get mine if it ever turns up. I've got a 2017 LandCruiser dual cab that's got a lot of mods on it but I reckon an after market centre console to have an arm rest and some speakers in the doors are probably the only things I would find pretty essential other than the things you mentioned like a secondary fuel filter. Looking forward to more videos, cheers 👍

Awesome review. No nonsense, not sponsored, stick to the facts and you speak from great experience. Keep it coming. And I won't fit a catch can - when they go bad, they cause expensive issues - overpressuring the crankcase can push oil out the turbo and block the DPF, and cause oil leaks in an engine that never normally gets oil leaks. And they don't stop the soot buildup in the intake unless the EGR is blocked.

Hi mate, thanks for the video! I have a 2014 cruiser with a new one on the way. IMO no catch can on these rigs as they breathe heavy and you don't want to risk a blockage which overpressures the crank case blowing out seals. The toyota fuel filter is a good design, carry a spare and change it out every 10,000kms.

Nice! Like the 75 series dip in middle of the bonnet also. I’ve the provent catch can, just have to drain it regularly (it’ll help keep the intake clean) and I also filed down the lugs 1-2mm on the air box lid to increase pressure around the seal on the air cleaner ( just in case) other than that 👌 I have a 2016 79 series. Enjoy!

I've purchased some seat covers and floor mats. Is the floor area the same configuration as the previous model and are the seats the same i.e. will the pre-ordered covers and mats fit? Look forward to your next update. I'm keen to add a second battery and would also be interested to learn more about possibly looking at the air/breathing improvement options and if they're necessary. Many thanks again! Mark

Thanks for the vid... good politics, I don't understand why people have to hate so much on anyone else's choices - I just buy what makes me happy irrespective of what the haters think. I've got the 2018 dual cab and was concerned about the newer models being prone to oily soot build up... so I saved my money and I went to the boys at GSL and let them do their thing which included an intake clean. They took photo's for me and whilst no where near the worst they've seen, there was definitely more build up than I would've thought for 70,000kms so for me the proof was evident! I did get their crank case breather/catch cans and it's been in for a year now and i've had no issues with it (and it's easy to clean). Among other things they did a moderate tune for towing a plant trailer and could not believe the difference... no more downshifting to go up hills; and I get around that 14-16L/100km unloaded/loaded milage. Like a lot of others, I have a newer one coming in about a year and look forward to see what you do in the mean time.

300 Series also has "wobbly" bonnet - for lowering head trauma injury in the event of accidental pedestrian strike. Will be looking forward to your next video on diff lock actuator guard. How many RPMs is the engine spinning over at 100 km/hr in 4th gear? Instead of oil catch can, since the engine is new, just do a regular chemical clean of the intake manifold to wash off the gunk build up. Maybe use Liqui Moly DIesel Intake Cleaner. But do change the engine oil each time you do an intake clean as the oil will be contaminated after the clean. Really happy that the Australian 70 Series did not get a DEF (Adblue) system with this facelift, unlike some other markets with the 2.8 4 cylinder diesel motor.

The 2.8 4 cyl has the same raised hood as yours & it's all because of pedestrian safety hence why it's thinner steel sheeting & flexes/twists etc

Hi there. I'm on a pastoral property in western Qld. I have some comments : 1) Second fuel filter system is a good idea. 2) Sun visor and window tint is a good idea. 3) The standard mirrors are fine. 4) Perhaps some sound deadening ? Something to think about :-) 5) All those guys who re-mortgage their home loans and max out their credit cards to build these 70 series cruisers never realise that it doesn't improve the view nor get you closer to nature. And all the hire 4wd's get to all the same locations. These people are caught in the accessory trap and it's more about impressing their mates at the camp site than actually being practical. 6) I wish you good health and prosperity. Hope you get more rain.
